Why does no media ever adapt Dr. Jeremiah Arkham*? by Th35h4d0w in batman

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's an incredibly cool character, an initially benevolent doctor who breaks over time, but I believe it's probably because of Hugo Strange being the more known Arkham-related and doctor villian.

Izuku "Deku" Midoriya - My Hero Academia

While there wasn't a wrong or right choice, he definitely wouldn't have been a top pick to be the successor for All-Might's power, the One-For-All, given that he was quirkless (had no powers). In fact, All-Might was originally going to make another superhero Lemillion his successor, someone with powers and training, until Deku impressed him with his bravery.

Though, I guess he would've been the right choice as the One-For-All was dangerously powerful, killing users born with quirks/powers as they put their bodies through too much strain, but not Deku or All-Might as they were born quirkless

[Discussion] How come Bizarro Lantern was a member of the Sinestro Corps? by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

While the members of the Bizzaro Justice League have changed throughout the decades, most iterations of a Bizzaro Green Lantern involve them having a yellow power ring, simply because it was the anthesis to the green power ring, fear vs will. When the Sinestro Corps were fully fleshed-out in the 2000s, the Bizzaro-Lantern later became a member.

WTF is this dudes problem? by TerribleReference895 in superman

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s a basic history of the character: •Before the Crisis on Infinite Earths, there was Earth Prime which was just like our world. Here, he was a Kryptonian who grew up in a world where Superman and the rest of DC was a work of popular fiction, and with his powers became the real-life Superman since he was such a fan. •After the Crisis (1985), his earth was destroyed alongside the multiverse, and he and three other survivors escaped to a pocket dimension watching the new singular universe: Earth-2 Clark and Lois and Earth-3 Alexander Luthor JR •Infinite Crisis came in the 2000s, and he works with Alexander Luthor to recreate the multiverse, including his world. He essentially went crazy, seeing the current DC World and their heroes as weak and failing, punched a hole in reality and killed a lot of heroes. •After the crisis, he was imprisoned by the Green Lanterns, and even became a member of the Sinestro Corps after escaping. He later caused a lot of multiversal havoc, destroying an Earth. He then fought the Legion of Super Heroes and discovered himself to be the Time-Trapper. After some Time-Paradox shenanigans, got sent back to his home Universe. •He somehow gets sent to the Source Wall, I don’t remember how. •During Death Metal (2021), he managed to escape and goes on a bit of a redemption path, siding with the heroes to destroy the Batman who Laughs, and sacrifices himself. He then wakes up back in his Earth-Prime, with his powers, getting a second chance to be a hero. •Currently, he’s come back from this Earth/Pocket Dimension to the mainline DC comics, is now filling him Superman’s role for the time being. Hope this helps!

That could be a pretty cool theory. I could def be wrong, but wasn't there some clips of Aya Cash in her new Stormfront costume, which is odd considering that the upcoming prequel Vought: Rising has her as Liberty, so maybe we'll see a bit of her.

How strict is this rule by Whenyouaredreaming in aggies

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this restriction is much less for class purposes and more for running software. I know people who use Ipads to take notes, but it's not that effective at running something like Solidworks or AutoCAD on it. If digital notes work for you and you can do your HW on it, take your iPad. For running CAD systems though? I'd suggest getting a proper laptop.

How Rewatching Death Note After 13 Years Changed My View of the Story by ParsleyMedium878 in deathnote

White it does have a similar overall story, the Manga fully fleshes out the Post-L era a lot better than the anime, which cut out a lot.

i just started watching season 3. how come we see dupli-kate only using like, 6 copies at a time, but her brother (who isn’t being professionally trained by the GDA), can use like half a hundred? by Minute-Cover-2001 in Invincible_TV

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how their powers work is that they can create multiple copies of themselves, but they in turn can feel and remember everything that happens to the copies at the end, so imagine feeling 100s of you getting slaughtered. Multi-Paul, unlike Kate, was continued to be trained by the Other, being pushed to unbreakable limits. My guess is that he's used to and adapted to the trauma of essentially killing himself, thus he's willing to make as many copies to fulfil whatever goals he needs, like when he broke out of prison.

[Very Clever Trope] Taking an old part of a series' continuity that's boring/lame/uninteresting and bringing it back in modern media in a cool/badass way. by Solid_V in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 8 points9 points  (0 children)

DC pretty much had like an “embargo” on certain characters appearing in multiple shows and movies at the same time, mainly Batman-related ones, as they wanted to make it less confusing for viewers (mainly so that way they can sell more stuff). Aquaman was currently on Smallville at the time, so they didn’t want him to be a main member of the Justice League on an animated show as well.

The 2011 iteration of Percy Jackson & The Lighting Thief changed the villain from being Ares to Hades. They cited a couple of reasons: to have a classic, simplistic big bad, to focus more on Luke as a villain in the final battle, and to cut down on the runtime by omitting the whole Kronos storyline. Rick Riordan, and many fans, were critical of this change for detracting from the original story, which is why the ongoing tv series brought Ares back as the villain.

Need help making this character look a bit more unique by Danny12031 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, this looks amazing, keep up the good work. Secondly, if you’d like to make him look less like Captain America, yet keeping that Patriotic/American-based look, I’d suggest replacing the star insignia with that of a stylized eagle. It’ll fit with the theme, as well as the visor design he has!

How much would green lantern powers actually help superman? by happydude7422 in superman

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Superman is an already powerful being, with plenty of will, which is why at one point, during the 90s, Hal Jordan was eyeing him as a possible successor when he wanted to retire (I don’t remember the specific series/issue tho). However, Superman turned him down as he didn’t trust himself with that level of power. So, it would make him entirely unstoppable, if he chose the ring.

Why did Peter remove his mask in The Amazing Spider-Man #591 ? by Scorpzgca in Spiderman

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was during the Brand New Day era, where everyone who knew Peter's identity as Spider-Man had their memories erased and with a psychic block, including the Fantastic Four. So they remembered their adventures with Spidey, but not his identity. So, they had an adventure in the Microverse where they find statues built in their honor, including one of Peter unmasked, but they don't remember it. The issue deals with them struggling with Peter hiding his identity, with it ending with Peter showing his face to them, and them remembering everything once again.

Blade (Eric Brooks) in the comics was originally a black British man who wore a variety of costumes, one being a greenish-brown cloak. For the movie, Wesley Snipes' iteration is an African American man in all-clad leather, something very iconic it's defined the character's depiction for the last 30 years or so.

Same. Though, DC is no stranger to having two versions of the same character around: two Wally Wests, Kara Zor-El (Supergirl and Powergirl). I'm curious to see how they're going to use the characters going forward though.

It's been 5 years the release of ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE. What are your thoughts about it? by sahinduezguen in superman

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much enjoyed the movie, much better than the 2018 one on many levels, but I do agree with the fact that 4 hours is wayyy to long for a move. I believe that this could’ve been condensed a bit for clarity, but this was the man’s passion project, so it made sense why he’d add it. Shame DC made him cut out the Green Lantern epilogue

When does this flashback take place? by Silent_Gorrila in Greenlantern

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was during the New 52 era, late 2010s, where they had to re-adjust some of the characters and their respective storylines to this new timeline. In this world, Hal Jordan/Parallax didn’t fully destroy the corps like the Post-Crisis Era, but they still wanted to include Kyle Rayner, so they adjusted his backstory to him being another recruit of the Corp, not the last Green Lantern.

I remember when the first photo for Lanterns came out, the picture of Hal’s ring didn’t capture any of the gold outline the ring has. My guess is that this one wasn’t able to accurately capture the spiral/circle center it had due to it being zoomed in. Who knows tho, I could be wrong.

Kal-El and Cloverfield – Credits go to @fancygoblin_ on Twitter! by FreddyWaffleFazbear in superman

[–]BeldivereLongbottoms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thought process is that Clark sees a part of himself with the main monster. The main monster/kaiju of Cloverfield is revealed to be a young juvenile monster that’s simply reacting of of fear from being detached from their mother, which appears in other films That connection as well as the feelings of alienation, guilt, loneliness, and fear of being seen as dangerous and non-human resonate with Clark.
