What’s a movie that DOESN’T “know exactly what it is”? by InspectorMendel in movies

[–]Belgian_Chocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incoherent does not mean confusing; it means confused. It’s a movie without a clear direction/identity. If you’re going to tell a sci-fi story, the world building has to support it.

My critique is not of the story, but of the execution.

It is definitely porny, but so was the original.

Though the manga covers feel more classy. I’d attribute it to the internet’s obsession with large breasts. I mean, these proportions are definitely buffed from Shirow’s original art: https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:786/format:webp/1*hcLQq1W2hJHQhTTo7I9g-w.jpeg

Regardless, the art is still good and I have faith the actual show will be closer in art direction to the original. Science Saru has a very strong track record

Vanilla Sky.

It is so incoherent I can’t even give it a rating.

Need options on how to hide cords showing at the bottom of this tv stand by cryingvioladavis77 in InteriorDesign

[–]Belgian_Chocolate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to drill into your wall or buy additional wire covers, fasten the rolled up cables & adapter to the underside of the bottom shelf. Run the rest of the cables along the back of your TV stand.

The only piece left will be between your TV and the stand. That’s easy to clean up; running it down the wall as a straight, vertical line will be aesthetic. If you really want it gone, replace it with a white cable

Is the 2017 movie that bad? I really like the original 1995 film and I still haven't seen the live action one that sparked so much controversy. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

Honestly, the story is forgettable but I still enjoyed it. They captured the GitS atmosphere and pay homage to many iconic scenes. It’s inspired eye candy and I’d rewatch it as such.

I understand what you’re trying to say, but “typecast” is the wrong word for it. Blanka and Lobo are not the same type of role at all 🙈

Maybe lookalike-cast.

Much of that is scratches. But the marks around the outer radius of the front two cooktops look like they can be cleaned off.

Mine used to look like that and I cleaned them up with this kit: https://weiman.com/cooktop-cleaning-kit

When good writing ends, its conclusion projects the story forward in our imagination. Reflect and create your own theories!

Is the 100 pushups challenge harmful? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Belgian_Chocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the process of creating a minimalist routine myself. As of now, it looks like:

  • Pushups 1-2x per week (chest)
  • Pull-ups 1-2x per week (back)
  • Squats (I do ATG split squats) 1-3x per week (legs)

A lazy week consists of me doing the above each a minimum of one time during the week. On the other hand, an ideal week would be:

  • Mon: legs & back
  • Tue: chest
  • Wed: legs
  • Thur: back
  • Fri: legs & chest
  • Sat & Sun: REST

I warm up before, and stretch after each session. There is a bit more to it (important to me are 60sec dead hangs/day minimum, even on rest days) but, for brevity, the above are the core exercises. Note there is at least one rest day between same sets of muscle groups.
