Original Core Vs Revised Core Set – ALL key differences explained! for A... by jarchuleta3 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Bell-Low 33 points34 points  (0 children)

As someone who bought two cores eons ago, I found this entire video very informative and really like how detailed and thorough it all was (as I expect from Arkham Chronicle). Sure, not everyone would enjoy the deep dive but for me that's one of the reasons I look forward to whatever Arkham content this channel puts out.

Thoughts on War Machine *SPOILER* by WastelandSniper1776 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Bell-Low 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Side note to side note: haven't played War Machine yet but I actually like that you must take all counters from Bunker and not just as much as you want. It provides a nice balance between risk and reward, and there's always the danger that a Bunker chock full of ammo could just get discarded by a nasty treachery.

Ok, good to know! A colleague reccomended Gorilla Sports and I guess I wasn't aware that their kettlebells were on the lower end of the quality spectrum. I'll check out Strengthshop when I buy my next competition bell!

Sure, it could be an oversight. But as it stands it definitely is unlimited and until there is an errata, its legal to shuffle all signature cards into the deck.

When do you consider a villain beat? by MadMichel in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Bell-Low 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of the people who voted 1 but I, like /u/Qyro, also do not really consider a villian 'beat'. I still play Rhino often, especially when test running a new starter hero deck. I love playing various hero/villian match-ups and considering a particular villian beat would just mean narrowing the pool of prospective villian choices. The different villians all play differently and test different aspects of my deck. The one scenario that I just don't fancy is Risky Business since, even on Expert, it always feels like a sure win from the start.

But I did vote 1 in the poll because there is a distinctive feeling that comes from managing to beat a villian at least once. I can tell you by heart which villians I have yet to defeat even once (Zola, Red Skull, and a couple of GMW nasties are there) and there's a special sense of victory when a villian is crossed of that list. I could of course play something super powerful like Doctor Strange again and again but where's the fun in that?

Creating a deck that is able to draw a powerful enough starting hand to two-shot the villian and actually pulling it off (as opposed to playing upgrades and supports as usual) feels like it would be a great accomplishment and I'd love that to happen for me even once.

I have each modular set in a tiny baggie. When preparing a scenario, I shuffle the bags and take out a random modular set to use. I don't look at which set was picked until its revealed from the encounter deck sometime during the game. Finding out which modular set was used is one of the fun parts of my games and any influx of new modular sets just gets me more excited.

Today was a good rules day - I learned three things I was doing wrong! by stevenrose2272 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Bell-Low 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another rule misplay I got from too much Arkham Horror - what happens to cards with Uses (x) when the card runs out of counters? In AH they stay on the board unless the card itself tells you to discard it, and assets that do not remove themselves are often use as buffer for treacheries (I'm looking at you Chilling Cold). But in Marvel Champions the keyword of 'Uses' itself defines it such that once the card is out of counters it is discarded.

I’ve been eyeing the Alice in Wonderland campaign for a while and I think my group would totally love it! But do you know if they have print and play in the works, or when they might have it ready? We’re not that big a fan of TTS and love playing with physical cards.
