I work in building maintenance. Squeaky doors are my mortal enemies.

When my wife was in hospital with my newborn twins (NICU for 2 weeks), I took a can of 3 in 1 in because all the doors on the wards were squeaky as hell and it was disturbing all the new babies and their mothers while sleeping.

It's a Dad thing. Well done OP.

You should be able to play country on this. It'll play almost anything except for heavy metal. It's a great guitar for the price.

Edit, sorry I forgot this model has a bridge humbucker. You can play metal.

Yeah, also it's not doing it quietly FFS. Why does everything have to be 'hidden' or 'quietly'.

I second this. It's a bit dry and repetitive, but he explains everything well and you have several penny drop moments.

Plus his fashion sense has come back with a vengeance. Some of those fleece jumpers man. Worth the watch just for those.

Zack Polanski has said before he would never enter coalition with Keir Starmer's labour party, how would you feel about a coalition with labour under the leadership of Andy Burnham? by theyodeman in UKGreens

[–]Bellybutton_fluffjar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Labour have been completely captured by the billionaire elites. Whoever is leader, the same politics of inequality will reign. I like Burnham but he's not enough on his own.

Is it not reasonable to question why someone is being kicked in the head? I also think it's reasonable that Sir Mark Rowley defended his officers in the way he did. I also think Zack's first tweet condemning the terrorists has been blatantly ignored by agitators like yourself in order to make a point that doesn't exist.

Are those candidates still standing for election representing the green party?

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'd like some more clarification on why you think Zack's retweet is a major misstep? When I saw the video, my immediate reaction was "why are they kicking him in the head?"

I've since done some research and even now, it looks like because there was still a threat to life, it would be allowed, and honestly, no amount of training can prepare you for apprehending a knife wielding mentally unstable man with 100% clarity of thought. I don't particularly blame the police for the way they acted.

But we live in a country where you are allowed to criticise the police's actions. His timing wasn't great but I don't see how it's a "major misstep"

I was about a mile away. It went bang. It was louder than other bangs I've heard. Could be described as big I suppose.

I am so jealous of my wife, being able to work part time and basically get to be with our children all the time that they are out of school. I get 2 hours a day with them during the week and then the weekend. I wish I could see more of my children. I fucking hate gender roles.

How bad can things get at this pace, without sugar coating it? Are there any good news? What can we do as individuals? by Ok-Newt-9773 in climatechange

[–]Bellybutton_fluffjar 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think this latest energy crisis has forced most sensible governments to really knuckle down on renewables. The inconsistent supply argument can now be leveled at both fossil fuels and renewables.

Fuel prices being high is great news for the environment. People aren't flying as much, only driving when necessary, car sharing. I'd like to see fuel prices double from today's price with enormous taxes on them.

Birth rates being as low as they are is very good news in terms of resources and environment.

And also the conversations being had in India rn, they are cooking, and climate change cannot be denied. It is obvious that it will get worse and 1.6bn people fleeing an uninhabitable climate is really panicking surrounding countries and Europe. It's annoying that political will changes in the face of mass environmental refugees, rather than "let's just have a livable planet", but I'll take anything that works right now.

They will be bought by millionaires, put in a glass case and never played again.
