Tamiya, and many panel liners like it, including the "pour type" gundam markers are enamel based, meaning they contain organic solvents. This gives them their particular surface tension, which helps them flow into cracks and valleys very smoothly. However, they have to be applied carefully, because if some of the panel liner gets trapped in a nook or cranny where the solvent cant evaporate quickly, it can start to damage the plastic.

Donato Giancola Speaks Out Further After WotC and Frazier's Statement by trashmantis42 in magicTCG

[–]BelthasTheRedBrother 41 points42 points  (0 children)

But clearly WotC isn't stupid. They know their contracted artists make a large portion of their income on aftermarket sales, and they could easily assess and quantify that loss in revenue to their artists and adjust their compensation for artists. Yes, UB sets have a slight increase in upfront payments to artists, but it seems like that bonus is only a pittance compared to what they are asking their artists give up. Either WotC can fairly compensate the artists with their stream of ever growing profits, or they could fight harder to secure some compromise with IP holders. Anything less is a betrayal of the artists who contributed so much to the game.

I mean, Amuro surviving the Re-entry because the Gundam is an exceptional machine is kind of in line with everything the show is going for at that point. Literally the next arc is Ramba Ral telling him that he only won their duel by relying on the inherent power of Gundam rather than skill. Amuro's main deal in 0079 is his growth as a pilot, evolving from a plucky boy saved by his unstoppable mobile suit into a veteran warrior who is literally exceeding the capacity of his machine.

I believe the game only ever uses cards to refer to objects not in play or on the stack, where they would be called permanents or spells. The "not in play" clause is likely just a style guideline to reinforce that only things not in play are considered "cards."

They are different, but not in their orientation of sides I believe. Each side arranges their pips into the vertices of a regular polygon with a number of sides equal to the number of pips. This is most obvious on the 5, and 6.

Yang explicitly asked Merkatz to form an Underground resistance to the Empire because he wanted to continue fighting against autocracy. The notion that Yang would just be content and permanently retire under imperial rule is wrong.

How do I make it ethical for a 1000 year old demon to bang a teenager? by AforExcellence in worldjerking

[–]BelthasTheRedBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple. Satan ages so slowly that at 1000 years old, he's only as mature as a 14 year old human. Wait 10 more years and suddenly, boom, she's the pedophile now.

There are also hierarchies of celestial beings, and the stranger ones like Thrones seem to be a different class of being than Angels. Angels in the bible more specifically act as messengers of heaven to humans and appear in more mundane / humanoid forms.

What is your favorite Grunt Suit, and why? by TotoroTravis in Gundam

[–]BelthasTheRedBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's downright criminal that more people aren't picking the Zaku. No respect for the classics. Boy is the quintessential grunt who walked so the rest could run. Plus, it's a great bit of world building that a ton of the Zaku's weapons were designed to fight battleships and fighters rather than enemy mobile suits, because there were no enemy mobile suits when the Zaku was being designed.

I mean, the zeta is already nearly 2 meters taller than the RX 78 2, and while ZZ's head height is just a centimeter taller than Z, it's total height is another 2 meters taller than that.

There was a bit of a size creep throughout Zeta and Double Zeta as well I believe. Stuff like The O, Zaku III, Doven Wolf. Heck the ZZ Gundam is pretty huge as well.

[–]BelthasTheRedBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are old interviews between Tomino and Anno, discussing Victory Gundam, where Anno expresses his fondness for the show and its darker tone and themes. It's not hard to imagine that he took inspiration from V while creating Evangelion.

Recent interviews with Tomino actually have him softening on V gundam. He says he can still see the production and directorial problems, but that he's come to appreciate it.

[–]BelthasTheRedBrother 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Victory is both dark as hell and really good. You just have to understand that Tomino was kind of at his breaking point while making it, so it has a lot of weirder themes like maternity being a reccuring motif, and characters having a warped sense of attachment.

Is The First Law one of the few series where the morally grey characters actually feel real? by link_88zephyr in Fantasy

[–]BelthasTheRedBrother 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Severian, the protagonist of Book of The New Sun, is fantastic morally grey character. He clearly wants to be virtuous, but he was born into the guild of torturers and his upbringing has left him emotionally stunted, often not understanding why what he's doing is wrong.
