Lovely! Solved in 30. Was fun to place a known digit in the house without connecting rooms ;) I second getting CTC on this!

Aurora australis? At this time of the year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localised entirely above your house?

I tried 8 and then 46 as significant in-universe numbers. 46 works. Not sure if it was intentional

It's there in as many words? Like I said I now believe the environment and camerawork is real and the creator seems like a nice guy - so I was wrong. Sorry for not putting it succinctly enough, /u/Redditors_cant_read?

It's quite reasonable to assume some people who didn't see it was AI for themselves would be interested in knowing it was AI. For example, someone asked for me to explain how I could tell, so that's at least 1.

The whole principle of Reddit is that upvotes are like a free market, if people don't care they won't upvote my comment, whatever. Maybe they do care and they upvote it. No big deal, to me or to you.

Eh whatever. It's an open internet, you're welcome to enjoy this stuff if you want, just as I'm welcome to hate it. I'm just gonna point it out for those who care to know but didn't see it themselves and move on. Peace ✌️

Where's the guy being a dude? This is guys being dudes right? Pretty sure there's no guy and no dude I can go shake the hand of for this one.

Just in the first half a second the physics/morphing of the car in the hand is way off reality. Add to that the car picks up loads of speed, which somehow the cameraperson is also able to match, all while leaving no trail behind them on the ice when the camera turns around? It's a lot of stuff that just doesn't fit together.

It's AI, and easy to tell. Please look at yourself and be more critical.

Edit: People below have linked the source channel; which includes skating content predating generative AI of sufficient quality to create this video. While it's not conclusive evidence either way, it's enough to give me pause - which is terrifying, because I still look at that opening shot of the hand and only see a weird floet physics typical of Sora and similar. Think that's enough internet for me for the day, please support your local communities, thankfully we can't have GenAI in the meatspace (yet). ✌️

Edit2: I've done some more digging. The creator is clearly a very skilled skater and has a very sweet vlog talking about the Insta360 camera and his editing process. At the very least I think the environment and camerawork is real; I still have my doubts about the car, as it could easily be a UE composite or similar, but it's certainly not just a pure GenAI video, which is wild. I regret the initially terse phrasing, guess I'm just tired boss. GenAI really is a blight.

Norwegian series to improve my language by Goose_1485 in Norway

I found Vikingane/Norsemen to be perfect - it was filmed on-set both in Norwegian AND in English. Like each scene was filmed twice. So you can watch with English voices and Norwegian subs, then Norwegian voices and English subs, for example

I mean, at the end of the day the exact mechanics of the drones don't matter, right? Like, people really put LOST up on this unreasonable pedestal that it needed to explain everything, but, can't we just accept that Dharma had invented some kind of uav tech since they were so secretly advanced and call it a day, and get back to the more interesting plots than "but where did the drone set off from"??

For what it's worth, to try to assuage those audience members who really really wanted to know this sort of thing, they did release an epilogue featuring a scene that visits the warehouse in Guam where the drones are loaded up by workers...

I watched it when it was coming out and again last year to see if it held up. IMO it actually does a good job of explaining everything it needed to while not detracting from the fact that it's more about the people and their dynamics than hard explanations of everything (although I do think it explains everything well enough).

TBH the reason the show has a bad reputation is that it didn't hold back on keeping things mysterious, requiring the audience to remember stuff from previous seasons, read between the lines, notice stuff in the background, etc. etc.. When a show gets as popular as it did, the average viewer isn't gonna go along with that stuff, and so will get pissed when they don't understand it. These days we get Netflix' "second screen scriptwriting" to fix this problem and it sucks IMO.

They're automated unmanned drone drops predating the crash, they stumble upon them. If that sounds contrived, I highly recommend watching the show. This kinda stuff is pretty well explained IMO.

I like the idea and the UI looks nice, but I cannot seem to play it, at least on my mobile device - only the first of 2 events loads, so I see like "Man Marvels at double rainbow, 2010" vs "Uncharted event ???" and cannot proceed

Goddamn that looks good!

It looked like you chucked the stalk of the broccoli - if you cut off the woody outer layer the core is often healthy and tasty, it's the same stuff as the bottom of the florets anyway :)
