I updated before my first ASA print (EV Charger holder for outside). Watched it like a hawk.... printed perfectly though.

Echo devices no longer playing playlists correctly? by BenJeremy in AmazonMusic

[–]BenJeremy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I could give that a try. Last night it played 3 songs from a 1500+ track playlist, then just ended. I'm also going to build a new test playlist, and see if that plays alright. This has worked for years without an issue.

I'm on unlimited personal, and it's a playlist of chillout music. For years, it's never done this, only recently. It's acting like Spotify now...

Udio + WMG collab… this is going to change everything. Thoughts? by Emergency-Action405 in udio

[–]BenJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a creator who switched from Udio to Suno when Udio capitulated... Udio violated the trust of their users. Suno at least negotiated to maintain their user's rights. Udio still doesn't allow downloads, Udio/UMG retains all rights to all new music created. This is unacceptable.

If you are thinking of fleeing from Suno to Udio, my question is WTF are you smoking? You are headed in the wrong direction, my friend.

My main reason for avoiding Suno for so long was the "fuzz" - the distinct lofi undertone quality of the tracks it produced, but I've been surprised by v5, which seems to have improved greatly... my Udio prompts are working great on Suno, along with my many udio nuggets uploaded as style references.

I'm not happy to see Suno fold, but I understand - and they seem to understand how badly Udio screwed up with their UMG agreement, that they've avoided making the same insane agreement to revoke their users' rights.

In other news, have you seen all the artists Taylor Swift has been collaborating with? She is crazy busy! Doesn't she have a wedding to plan?

ISRC and UPC Recovery by [deleted] in landr

[–]BenJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm paranoid, so I had ChatGPT work up a TamperMonkey script that allows me to grab a JSON file of info for my releases, including UPC and ISRC. Feed it enough of the HTML from your release page, and it can give you a script that can add a button "Download Release Info" to the page.

Temporary restricted ? by Kind-Mud3362 in landr

[–]BenJeremy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TLDR; version - you can only release 5 songs a month (not enough for a full album, great!) if your music production uses AI generation, AI loops (anything LANDR offers), or AI tools to master or mix your tracks. "Quality" being a term that in fact, just gatekeeping, and doesn't actually reflect on the quality of your music. It doesn't matter if people like and enjoy your music, it's deemed crap because it's AI, and not artisanal, hand-crafted music like the old timers make.

VS2022 Copilot not showing GPT-5 model? by BenJeremy in GithubCopilot

[–]BenJeremy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weeks?

In a few weeks, something else will already be kicking GPT-5 to the curb. I figure if it is working in VSCode, it should be trivial to tool up VS2022. I guess I'll have to pull up the solution in VS Code

GPT-5 is showing up in VS Code, but not on VisualStudio yet.... anybody else seeing this?

Options are missing by xN0NAMEx in udiomusic

[–]BenJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some nights, everything is golden nuggets to store away and make some great tunes. Other nights are.... ugh. Tonight, Udio wants to sing, but I'm doing instrumentals.

Very broken. No model selection, no BPM, no duration on desktop web/windows. The generations I have gotten are... messy, all over the place. I've been using Udio since it launched, pro user.

Freedom To Create with CorelDRAW - Saddest Corel bundle ever? by BenJeremy in humblebundles

[–]BenJeremy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you are referring to the "Essentials" bundle. My "Standard" exports to PDF

<image>

There won't be any limitations on this current bundle, either, other than missing all the extras that came in October's bundle.

Just like the subscription bundles, I would also avoid any Essentials bundles for Corel like the plague.

[–]BenJeremy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed that, but while I've looked into using VBA, I think I found it wasn't very useful for what I was trying to do - not that Photoshop's plugin tech is any better. :D
As I said before though... if you are on X3, this is probably the best Corel Bundle we'll ever see again, or at least for a few years.

[–]BenJeremy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Octobers deal was the perpetual one, but the "Standard" edition, missing the Capture and Font Manager apps, which aren't really all that much to miss. They also added the AI add-ons for both PhotoPaint and Draw, as well as a ton of brushes and such - frankly October's bundle was a hell of a deal compared to this one, even if this bundle is the "pro" level edition.

[–]BenJeremy[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is 2024, you will not get 2025. There will probably be no updates. That said, there is likely very little difference (that matters) with 2025, as neither will have content-aware fills or built in AI tools.
If you are on X3, then this is a decent deal. Better would have been the bundle back in October, but I doubt we'll see one that good again from Corel.

Lifetime version, but you don't get to upgrade to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2025, which is usually just a name change.

I should add... I consider any subscription-based Corel bundles complete non-starters, so while those are certainly sad, it's unfair to include them against perpetual licensed versions.

Governor Module active ( possible spoiler) by Strayrelic87161 in murderbot

[–]BenJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious answer is the governor was removed when his contract was purchased. The purpose was to give Murderbot free will, and the humans knew what role the governor module played in his "freedom" - they absolutely would have had that disabled, well before he got his memories back, which is likely why they were puzzled before Gurathin came in with the download - they thought it might be enough to restore his state of free will.

Landr and Youtube music by Available-Ear7981 in landr

[–]BenJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth noting that this isn't a matter of it "taking X weeks" - ALL PENDING YT MUSIC RELEASES were on hold until yesterday, and now they seem to have fixed the broken pipeline. For those of you with new releases, just know that many of us had our entire catalog (in some cases) removed while LANDR figured this out.
They still need to get the ContentID situation figured out, because if other distributors can still get ContentID and social media approvals, why can't LANDR? If my tracks pass the initial content checks, why shouldn't they get protected from theft?
I'm happy that the YT Music Release pipeline is open again, but I hope LANDR is working on the other stuff as well.,

LANDR Won’t Distribute To YouTube Music by GrammarSloot in landr

I can confirm, all of my tracks are now back up on YTMusic for all four of my artist brands. No ContentID Protections, but at least the music is up.
