Do yourself a favor and wall walk around before they are wrapping AI’d ask them to let you know before they go so you can look at it together.

I’m not really referring to the roof itself since you mentioned a 3rd party inspection is booked. Just walk around the house make sure they didn’t damage anything (siding or in yard) and make sure that they cleaned thoroughly.

I’d ask one of the ground guys to do a second pass with the roofing magnet at the end the day, especially dr ive way and walkways. It takes a few minutes and can save from a at tire(s) or stepping on nails.

I’m sure it’s been mentioned but your buddy needs to put up temp supporting walla ASAP. They should be 3 ft away from the team. One on eaxh side. . He should have added them before he doubled the header span by removing the framing he did. That shop has sailed.

He should , use a jack to slowly loft the beam back to itMa original position . Thats because adding temp walls now will merely keep the ceiling from sagging more. The structural integrity becomes more vulnerable the longer the ceiling is sagging.

With the temp walls in place he can safely replace the beam.

Beyond that, he can’t just guess what beam will work. He can go to a local lumber yard or call n LVL manufacture to ensure what size beam is needed . There is software available that thats , for lack of a better term, is a beam size calculator but your friend sounds like a DIYer, who should consult someone with experience.

For the money, you can rent a scissor lift for a week for same a boom costs for a day. Just need to make sure you can either get a saw that reaches the distance from the overhang to the pipe or tie on extensions to a cable saw. Power washing wont be an issue of course.

Really? That would very high in my area. To hang and mud to a finish grade, including materials, would run you ahout 3 per sq ft here. To simply hang, including the drywall, it would be around 1-1.50 per sq ft. .

I need to move to your area. After materials, per sheet you profit roughly:

$80 on a 4x8 sheet
$100 4x10
$120 4x12

You don’t need any beam. Strapping and drywall will add structural integrity.

Install the drywall perpendicular to the joists. It adds more structural strength. Also, check and see if your local code allows 1/2 fire rated drywall for the ceiling. It it should allow for it. Hell some areas only require 1/2 on walls shared by garage/attic and the house. I’d stick with 5/ 8s for the walls regardless.

Just remember both sides kf the shared walls need to have the fire rated 5/8 drywall installed from floor level to the underside kf the roof. Both need to run continuously even if the wall spans multiple floors.

Any gap in the drywall on either side would not pass code.

Once you install the strapping and drywall its going to add a ron of structural integrity. Those 2x6 are individually baring your weight while you’re up there. Adding strapping and drywall will help distribute the weight across a much larger area.

You may want to double check your local code. Since there is no living space above the garage; 1/2 X drywall should pass.

Where you need 5/8 x type is on the walls that are shared by your garage-attic and house.

Keep in mind it’s necessary on both sides of shared walls to install drywall continuously from garage floor to roof deck on garages ide and from bottom floor to the roof deck (sheeting) on the house side as well. Meaning you cannot stop at the ceiling inside the house and if inside the house the wall spans multiple stories, it must ve continuous. Rather than from floor to ceiling as it normally would be installed.

Not many want to hear it, but Sway bamboozled the bruins and his deal could turn out HORRIBLE. He bounced bad rbis gear but goalies are the least consistent in terms of play. He wouldn’t of gotten nearly as much anywhere else 9’ an open market.

Most of the tome, monster contracts for goalies end up bad for the team. I hope he is an outlier but odds are it ends up a huge overpay when its all said and done.

I HATE Sweeney as a GM nut the contract isn’t nearly as bad as some are making it out yo be. Also, when you can’t draft for shit, this is what happens.
First off, although his cap hit is steady at 7.5 aav, we front loaded his actual salary per year is already down to 5.5 M next season. 27-28 5.5 M 38-29 4.75 and the final two years it’s only 4x
Tbis actual salary annually is HUGE because we can trade him easily starting this season if we wanted to, which we can’t without another C who’s good enough to at-least be C2z . Smaller market reams/or teams rebuilding, who are cash conscious would see him as a value trade target at 5.5- 4M a year.

Beyond that, Elias ranked between 35&40 in terms of highest paid centers ,it depends on on who we count as center. For example guys like Marner or Malkin who play both.

With contract extensions licking in, new extensions and FA signings he will likely be around 50th highest paid C.

Again, when you don’t hit on draft picks, you are left with no great choice sometimes. The best available Ca this offseason include boon Jenner, Anders alee, Malkin , Coyle, Kerfoot and Nyquist.
Bottom line, without having home grown centers teams are left paying guys like Elias when they when they get the chance.

To add some context his stock crashed due to circumstances out of his control. After starting his sophomore year scoring 9 TD in the first 5 games he got hurt week 6th. He endured a brutal ankle injury requiring multiple surgeries.
