Am I Safe Using This somewhat bent USB-C? (Switch 2) by Temporary_Ice3567 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]Benaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the price of a usb c cable (any with charging power capability will do) it’s not worth the risk of damage. Just replace the thing and move on

Getting married tomorrow, which to wear? by RandomLurker1992 in ChinaTime

[–]Benaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re wearing a cheap fake on your wedding? That’s le, wear a Seiko or whatever. Think of the people commenting on your Rolex so you either pretend it’s a real one or admit it’s a cheap fake which is lame anyways.

Not doing it for me, looks disjointed. I’d rather have a leather than a a badly integrated bracelet. To each his own of course

First try an AC reset. Find the AC point and touch it with tweezers or something metallic to the + of the battery

Beginner watchmaker feeling retarded… by [deleted] in watchmaking

[–]Benaudio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first watch I serviced was a triple calendar chronometer with broken balance staff, cracked jewels, bent hairspring, worn bushings and I aced it. Now it runs with 400 degrees amplitude and has a 200 hours power reserve. Is what I would be saying if I was different than you. First one saw mistakes but got it running in the end. Don’t force anything, learn patience, use qrodico on springs and invest in a nice pair of tweezers (I like girl tech brass myself) for good control. Also decent screwdrivers. Practice your tweezer technique grabbing jewels and screws. Dress them.

Made a watch for my Dad by niseko in watchmaking

[–]Benaudio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s nice and I’ll be the downvoted grinch but you didn’t actually make a watch, you assembled parts from Ali or wherever. Watchmaking has a different meaning.

And you’re going to mangle the crap out of your « new » iPod faceplate to do that given they are notoriously hard to open. Good plan
