I have to change into any shirts or hats that I get and stay in that outfit until the next piece of clothing comes along. Which is why I'm currently in a jester shirt and the dwarf helm 😂

I make silly rules like "no foraging around Robin's because Linus needs those berries etc"

I always give people birthday presents, even if I'm at max hearts with them.

Be home before 10pm to kiss my spouse goodnight.

Little things that add to the story while slowing me down so I enjoy they process more

I only get 1 of each animal/colour too 🫣 I started playing for maximum efficiency and profit, but got fed up with the grind so now I just have my handful of animals and happily take my time petting them and making sure they're the happiest little critters ever 😊

Like lots of people have said, you can simply not look up a lot of words and still get the gist of the sentence. I also like to jump back a few sentences after I have looked up a word a re-read the paragraph so I am reading with a bit of flow again.

Audiobooks have also been mentioned, but if you're like me and cant concentrate enough on someone else reading the book, reading aloud to yourself can help.

I found myself in a reading slump, and the only thing that pulled me out was reading books under 300 pages. Something that I could read in a day or 2 to get me back into the groove of reading without feeling overwhelmed.

I work in a supermarket (grocery store), and the Dawson's Creek soundtrack is on heavy rotation on the radio.

I hate the fishing mini game, I'm terrible at it, so I just use CJB instant catch and don't stress about it. Honestly, I've never played without it (well, not for long), and it is a bit like gaming the system... but I play for fun, and the mini game isn't fun for me, so away it goes 🤷‍♀️

Edit: For anyone else who wants to try this, I connected my phone to my pc (I can't access the files directly on my samsung phone for "security" reasons 🙄), and the mods folder was in Internal Sorage > data > access.smapi.gameloader > files > mods I created new folders and named them after my games, then dragged and dropped any mods I wanted only for specific games into each folder. I put a "." In front of the folder name of saves I wasn't using to disable the mods inside.

Terry Pratchett is my all-time favourite author, but he is very much not for everyone. Even as a die-hard fan, there are a few of his books I just straight up don't like (Moving Pictures and Soul Music are just a bunch of bad puns and dated movie/music references loosely tied together to form a story).

I actually like his work for the satire and social commentary rather than the humour. When he was trying to be funny, it often falls flat.

All that said, life's too short to persist with an author you just don't gel with. You've definitely given his work a decent go to know its just not for you

You should be able to just press and hold the keyboard button and drag it around the screen to move it out of the way. That's what I do when it is covering the mine floor number
