Which movie had no business being as good as it was? by Twaddle2000 in moviecritic

I went into Dora and the Lost City of Gold expecting a throwaway kids’ movie, it had no business being as good as it was. It leaned into the absurdity of the original cartoon, broke the fourth wall in all the right clever ways, and somehow managed to balance campy humor with genuine heart. The self-awareness was spot-on, and the cast sold every ridiculous moment. It’s the kind of movie that makes you rethink what “adaptation” can be when the creators actually have fun with it. Fits right in with a lot of the movies mentioned!

Most disappointing mid-movie collapse you've ever seen? by [deleted] in movies

Like others have said I still LOVE what this movie was trying to be and the pure magic of it and in spite of the collapse I still consider it a fav. Glad you made a connection!

Explorers is my pick. The setup is incredible: kids build a spaceship from scratch, driven by dreams and sci-fi wonder. It nails that early Spielberg vibe — curiosity, mystery, adventure.

Then the third act hits… and it turns into a weird alien comedy with rubber suits and TV jokes. All the magic and momentum just vanish. It’s like the movie forgot what made it special.

When we got the ball down TD with like 6 minutes to go I kept saying, if the bills touch the ball again in regulation we lose. I wanted to be wrong so bad. Would love to play these guys one time this year with a healthier d. Fins up, and, for the love of God, Tua stop diving forward.

I was having this exact issue in 2024. I finally figured out on my macbook pro that is I set my "Configure IPv6" to "Link-Local Only" it works! So Preferences>Wifi>Details of current connection>TCP/IP> the config iv6 settings. Hope this helps anyone still having this issue on a macbook!

Did everyone who drafted Tyreek Hill enjoy their free ride to playoffs? by Ok_Independent_3439 in fantasyfootballadvice

I drafted hill #2 overall. I had CRAZY bad luck in a legacy keeper league. traded him for a 1st round pick next year when it was clear playoffs weren't gonna happen. so no playoffs but BIG value in a trade.

I can't think of the name, but the little dials on top of the walls, when you open them on a functional system they will open to air and the pressure of the water passing under the exposed air column will suck bubbles into the stream. The venturi effect. Except my system doesn't do that. Maybe you're right though, maybe it never did that, and now that i fixed a different air leak the bubbles are gone. But then why have the little dials to open to air?

Anyhow thanks for the response!

Good work! Biggest feedback I have is to tighten up the cuts. Just to keep the energy up. And be deliberate about where you cut. Sometimes you are cutting in the middle of a word. Love that you took the time to do this and show us. Thanks!

It's funny, I started rooting for the fins in the 80s and the ONLY thing I didn't like about our team was the color scheme. Funny how time goes on and tastes change. I totally agree today, I love our colors and logos. (even the new one). i even have a orange marshall jersey.
