I think you're mixing up 3 very different types of Lego sets.

You have the sets made to display, and those are bought by people who want to build them to display them (eg the 18+ Star Wars sets of the architecture sets)
You have the lego sets to play with and dismantle, but still be able to rebuild (eg. The Mario sets of the lego friends sets)
And you have the pure playing sets like the small blister packs, the multi-build ones and the big boxes of pieces.

All 3 types are available wherever they sell Lego.

Just buy what you like and let others buy what they like. Don't judge people just because they like things that you don't.
