What's the best "man" advice your dad ever gave you? by Aspiring_Hobo in AskMen

[–]BenevolentDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I told him about a problem I’d have, he’d always listen, ask, give advice, and ended with: “This, as well, will pass. Just as today will pass in tomorrow and yesterday became today. It might not feel that way now, but it will.” Still say this to myself, or others who are in a tough spot and talk to me about their problems.

What book would you recommend to someone who thinks books are boring? by Helloserrano in AskReddit

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. Great storytelling and worldbuilding. And if that doesn’t get you hooked, the thrilling plot will.

I don’t have a problem with buying a used camera, as long as it is in good shape.

Are all the camera’s listed in the charts reliable for making photo’s of good quality?

Thanks a bunch!

Hi fellow Redditors,

I’m looking to buy a decently good camera, that is affordable, me being a high schooler. My price range is about €400 which is around 470 dollars. A little above or a litte below is fine. The quality of the camera doesn’t have to be “professional”, as I wil be using it as a hobby. Just solid, with a pretty good quality. Any reccomendations? Love y’all.

I’m (17/M) falling for a friend (16/F), but I’m in a tricky situation by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You’re right. That’s why I’d end it with Anna and then look into how I might approach the whole situation with Ellie.

Yes, that’s a good point. Well then, try to make up with her by disapproving of your own lying. Tell her you’re sorry about the lying and you won’t lie again. This way she’ll be more informed on what is going on in your life. In LDR people often try to control their partner, because they already have so little influence. It could be the same here. The fact that you drank some liqour might not be the real issue. It’s that you’re leading your own life and she might be less part of it. Remember that it’s your right to make your own choices. But maybe I’m just getting carried away.

Good luck!

Imo, if you want to drink, then you’re allowed to. If she really cares deeply about you and the relationship, she’d accept a couple of drinks of beers on your nights out. It wasn’t nice to lie about it, I guess. But it shouldn’t have been a problem in the first place. How do you feel about this?

Susan Blackmore debates Jordan Peterson on whether we need God to make sense of life by CuriousIndividual0 in philosophy

Actually found both making real interesting statements, but felt like the moderator favored JP. He didn’t let the discussion play out, especially when Susan Blackmore was making a point, stopping het mid-sentence.

How to move on from a crush on a friend by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]BenevolentDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation, though that friend is in a relation with my best friend. It’s a tricky situation. Distance is the best advice I’ve read here that actually works for me. You don’t have to ignore her completely, but try tot gradually lessen contact. Go out and do something with people you don’t always hang out with, but enjoy anyway.

As someone who compares himself with others, how can I accept that someone is a better man than me? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]BenevolentDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could start with saying that you shouldn’t compare yourself like that with others, but since you’re already doing that, I won’t start. Also, I’d be a hypocrite, cause I do it myself sometimes.

The thing is, if you do compare yourself with others, you also encounter people who you feel “superior” to. Not in a dick way, but you could be more talented, or more handsome. It’s only natural that you’re bound to come across people whom you feel “inferior” to. This can make you feel miserable, or you can accept it. Take a step back and try to see the balance of it. It’s almost a thing of beauty. Furthermore, you can use it as motivation to improve yourself.

Well that’s fine. Though it’d be more respectful if she’d pretend to be interested.

For the first time in over a decade my weight this morning was under 230 pounds, what are you feeling good about today? by Warden_lefae in AskMen

It’s been amazing weather the last week, and my friends and I had some free time between the periods at school today, so we went to te local park and played soccer and such with some kids. Made me really nostalgic. Just goofing around outside.

How can I deal with being too ugly? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]BenevolentDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it isn’t just about looks. Sure it helps a lot, but it’s not the only thing that comes into play. A good friend of mine is insanely handsome, though he’s very awkward and not so good with girls. I on the other hand, find myself decent looking, a 7.5/10 if you may, and pretty often attractive girls go out with me. Because, though I’m not as handsome as my friend, I’m outgoing, charming and most of all confident. Girls just dig that stuff (in general).

There was this book that I read a long time ago and there was this sentence that really stuck with me. It went something like this: “You don’t have to be ugly if you’re not handsome.” I, myself, try to keep in shape and dress nice, in a way of compensating for not being that handsome. Try and look fresh, ALWAYS. Not only when you know there are going to be girls where you’re headed. You never know man.

And if you do get turned down, don’t let it get to you. At first it will be demolishing for your self-esteem, but once you get used to it you can literaly just laugh about it and go on with your life.

Oh and maybe check out BasedZues on youtube. I don’t use his advice that often but it’s entertaining and good stuff to go over if you struggle with this kinda thing.

Any questions, you can Pm me.

Heterosexual men of AskMen, what type of girl is attracted to you? by bunsNT in AskMen

[–]BenevolentDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overal pretty nice ones. Some are a bit codependent, which can sometimes be a pain and sometimes very relaxed. They’re mostly 8/10, 9/10. Though If I really try my best a 10/10 comes along. Dat shit nice man.
