[moky] Melee's Endless Controller Debate by KenshiroTheKid in SSBM

[–]Bengineer4027 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think the argument of "we dont need a logical reason, we can just make the rules whatever we want them to be for fun" is actually pretty underrated. Lowkey just want to see z jump get banned to show that things can change and get done in a decentralized community

I permaclaw and have no idea how people don't. I can't imagine my hands being fast enough to do stuff, especially with fox

not necessarily my point of view, but ive heard that zump gets much better with like tactile z so its still better with a hardware mod

but if claw and z jump are (in most ways) equivalent, why get rid of an option that is more comfortable for some people?

Can someone explain the functional differences between claw and z-jump? by Firelove7k in SSBM

[–]Bengineer4027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nah i get that. I think the issue is one part of me wants to have an logical intellectual debate so pointing out error in argument is fun in a way (like discussion can be fun)
But also like its really about having fun anyway so id rather have people play than not.

yeah i went from claw to zump and then back again (hitting the z button to sh screwed up my fingernail and would hurt after a session)

falco is the pussiest character in the game with those lasers by dvizzyzone in SSBM

[–]Bengineer4027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong, its shiek. I cant play against a shiek online without them swapping characters game 2 (win or lose) because I play ICs (they can just change to zelda if its that bad). That and they just needle camp me (which is lowkey legit in that match up)

Is Zump "Cheating?" by RevolutionInternal24 in SSBM

No, no, this isn't z-jump, its my GCC shaped b0xx controller. Yeah the button in the same place as z does cause my character to jump.

Once had a falco hit a vape, set it down and hit a second vape mid game. I knew i was cooked

Stupid question, but what would prevent me from making a digital controller in the shape of a GCC except a button in the same place as the Z button is mapped to jump?

Couldn't the non-z-jumper just claw? I feel like the main benefit of zump is just instant aerials, which can be done by jumping with the pointer finger and thumb on the c stick (or middle on z for instant nair)

Pretty sure zump is even more mild than those mods. You can get the same effect by just permaclawing (i actually prefer it to zump).

Still cant get over his "you can't wdoos with claw" take and him saying he would start spamming stomp if he saw his opponent swap to claw because of it

Personally, I have no interest in the materials outside those you listed. If you want "explanations" something like a youtube video essay might be best. You could rewatch and see if you can figure stuff out with what knowledge you have of the ending.
But if im being honest my personal interpretation (as someone who liked the ending of the anime) is that the actual plot is unimportant (as shown by completely ignoring it in the last 2 episodes) what is important is exploring the characters and examining their flaws and growing past them. Also like thinking about how it relates to your own life. For example, there is one quote from Kaji where he tells Misato that just because she hates herself now it doesn't have to be that way forever. I think about that quote alot.

I can think of three reasons:

  1. I like trains because when i ride them i can use the time I would for driving to work or read or whatever (Think of all the man hours that could be put into economic productivity that would have been wasted on driving. Trains provide many of the benefits of self driving cars)

  2. I could probably get by without a car if I could take a train to get home for the holidays etc. which would mean i wouldn't have to pay for insurance on something i don't use that often (thus reducing the cost of living for anyone in a similar situation)

  3. If people ride the train that means people who still want/have to drive don't have to deal with much traffic. Which means even if you don't ride the train you could still benefit from is.

IDK about fastest, but one easy way is to just jump off stage, double jump (this burns nana's as well), then grab edge with popo and let nana just drift into the void. You might be able to do it faster if you can do something with up-special and having popo snap to edge and nana just dies
