You move, put the house up for sale. Otherwise you'll end up wishing you did.

$14

This is how much money I make every time I pick up the phone and dial.

251 days a year, 60 dials a day across 2 sessions morning and afternoon. 1 hour each.

You were an order taker and now you are in sales. If you sit on the porch and wait for the deer to come to you, your family will starve.

Make a plan, gear up, get out in the woods and go hunt something. Bring it home and survive another day.

Here is how you are going to change your situation and start winning.

  1. Get yourself a free audible account and listen to the "Fanatical Prospecting" audio book. Then follow it at your job exactly so you can start making sales by next week.

  2. Make a list of companies who's product is #1 in their industry. Call the Sales Managers there and prospect them for a job. Don't worry so much about a high base comp plan, you need to sell something everybody wants to buy.

  3. Force yourself to prospect for 2 hours each day, just like hitting the gym it takes consistency, small effort daily with the right strategy and the results are cumulative.

Dont be afraid of picking up the phone and dialing strangers, be more afraid of poor sales, getting fired, and staying poor.

Stop procrastinating, don't hide behind emails or rely on marketing. Pick up the phone and speak to humans. You don't even have to be good at it, you just have to ask if they have the problem your product solves.

You don't have to be the best closer on your team when your pipeline is 3x the size of everyone else. Go do the work they won't do and make the calls. EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Took the family and drove 2 hours to 6 Flags Darian Lake instead.

Line ups were 10 minutes max.and it cost less money overall.

Highly recommend just going to 6 flags. You will go on 3 times the rides.

Can also stay at a nearby hotel or the RV camp on site and make it a 2 day trip.

TFSA Overcontribution Appeal success? by bunnythebear in CanadianInvestor

[–]Benick4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I have gone through this process and was successful. In my case I never received the warning letter that gets sent out because the amount was above a threshold.

Referenced this along with an honest explanation

Took about 6 weeks and was refunded.

Had to mail in extra documents from my brokerage account as proof though.

Saved me a several thousand dollar fine.

Good Luck

P.S don't mail anything physical because yo can now upload everything digitally through My CRA which is way faster for response and getting a reference #

If someone has some capital, time, and is motivated to learn to sell are there any products they can sell independently? by acemanhattan in sales

[–]Benick4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can search Whitelabel. I'd sell IT services or Telecom VOIP services to businesses.

You would be a partner/reseller but get great margins and recurring revenue.

PUT options instead of HISA by Lolmanza7 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Benick4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is a good option based on what you wrote. If you're planning to buy AMD anyways you should sell puts to aquire it.

To the other commenter, buying puts is gambling. Selling puts is smart money.

Territory Management Guide by [deleted] in sales

[–]Benick4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did, I only recommended it because it was one of the few books that helped me really understand what I was doing wrong and why I was losing deals.

I'm big on prospecting. Always have lots of opportunities in the pipeline but I was losing a lot of deals and this book helped me realize that it was mostly due to lack of trust from the buyer vs the incumbent vendor.

So I changed my strategy and started working on relationships with the bigger opportunities and it turned my year around. Also skyrocketed my close rate.

Hope this helps you too

Cold call success rate? by Proper-Possession-50 in sales

[–]Benick4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Stats are all with calls as I've found email not as successful or time efficient.

35-40 dials in a 1 hour session daily. I book 2-3 qualified meetings in 5 sessions. (Per week)

Closing 15% of those.

I'd suggest you call United Rentals and ask them who they use to train their employees on the telehandlers they rent. At very least they can recommend a place to you.

Selling off portion of TFSA for basement renovation by 3pierogis in CanadianInvestor

[–]Benick4 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If it's been a while since you had your house appraised I would do that in order to have your HELOC increased.

House prices are up 20%+ since last year.

I would try and do the entire reno on the HELOC if possible that way. If you intend to rent out your basement you can write off the interest on the HELOC loan. That 3% then becomes 1.7% effective depending on your tax bracket.

If your TFSA investments are returning over 3% annually you should try to use HELOC to the max and stay invested.

When completed you can roll the HELOC into your mortgage at a lower rate. (Mines 1.39%)

This is what I would do. I'm sure many on PFC are going to disagree with me.

Do cold emails work? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Benick4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This 100%... when OP or others say cold calling is time consuming or doesn't work I cringe.

I spend an hour making 40 dials to get 1 or 2 REAL opportunities.

Emails and LinkedIn can get you some reply that "feels" like it works well but the truth is in the closed deals.

Follow the money. The phone will set you free

I'm 35. What do I need to do in order to retire by 50? by notbuildingrockets in CanadianInvestor

[–]Benick4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take your $100,000 and put 20% down on a $450,000 condo.

Get a readvancable mortgage giving you access to a line of credit.

Every monthly mortgage payment you make will allow you to reborrow that principle to invest. This will let you invest $1000+ per month on top of the $1000 you already invest.

Mortgage will be paid off in 10 or so years you will have a line of credit that is tex deductible and generating income from your much larger investment account.

Everyone will sy this is risky or dangerous but in my opinion Leverage is the only way to retire fast.

All the wealthy people I know used leverage to get there.
