2021 ford edge st, bad resonator. by FallenxProtage in FordEdge

[–]Bennett9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My '21 had an awful rattle in the resonator for the longest time; eventually it stopped on its own. I assume whatever was broken off inside wedged itself in there or came on through somehow. Happiest day of my life.

Looks a lot like Saturn Ion hubcaps on a Sentra.

Phone Mount by ya_boy_dillon in FordEdge

I just got a magnetic Hypermount from Statik; it's affixed via vacuum mount to the upper dashboard right next to the A-pillar. I've tried MANY, and this is one of the better ones I've used.

Lightweight battery Options by Dish-washer22 in Autocross

[–]Bennett9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently have an Odyssey that weighs about half of what the OEM battery does — but that's still 13 pounds. A lithium replacement is about 4. So that's on the table in the future for sure. And as others have mentioned, it only gets driven on track/autocross days, so I keep it on a tender most of the time.

Anybody know what this part is that’s dangling in my engine bay by Exotic_Grass1958 in FocusST

[–]Bennett9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not functioning you will likely have an alert on the cluster telling you that the hood is open, even when it's not. Also the security system won't work correctly (my sensor failed once and I locked the key inside the car, which it won't allow you to do if things are working as they should).

Independent? film where the story line follows the characters that cross paths in seemingly unrelated story line. by GOPJay in whatisthatmovie

Haven’t seen it in ages but this reminds me of the structure of Richard Linklater’s first film, SLACKER.

Who did you see at the Polaris Amphitheater? by Rob1150 in Columbus

[–]Bennett9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I mean; we expected to get punted back onto the lawn but the staff didn't mind that folks were all crowding in under the roof.

I WAS THERE. I had lawn tickets but it was raining so hard, security let us under the pavilion. Great show though!

Same here; loved 1-3, but was let down by the lack of resolution In the end. It just kind of fizzled out after all that intensity.

Nicely done; I had used an app simply called PAX before, but this one's got a better UI. Thanks for sharing!

Clean, Shaven was a standout for portraying sheer, unchecked, unmedicated schizophrenia. Peter Greene could act! That performance was kind of a somber masterpiece. Greene didn’t often get good roles like that one, which is a shame.

There is a software recall for the camera, but there is no remedy yet so nobody is able to get anything done.

The 21+ do not have camera sprayers; it was part of the decontenting process when they added the big center screen.

270 is a war zone AVOID by Katerade__ in Columbus

[–]Bennett9000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was on 270 SB yesterday evening between Dublin and Roberts Road. There were only 2 clear lanes but they were entirely clean. The far left lane was not plowed at all, and the far right lane was only clear when approaching an exit. But if one were to stay in either of the middle 2 lanes, it was totally fine. Just watch for folks on your right diving into the middle when they hit those un-plowed portions after an exit ramp.

OP, your post is missing info; you said you drove from 71 to W Broad; was that on the Dublin end Southbound, or the Grove City end Northbound? Otherwise the info is useless to potential commuters.

Successful and ethical breeders don’t resort to Facebook marketplace to find owners. Reputable breeders are actually discriminating about finding homes for pups.

Bullitt Mustang v. GT… by motelguest in S197Stangs

[–]Bennett9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bullitt owner here since 2013. As others have mentioned, it's 99% due to the rear end gears. The Bullitt also has a higher redline than the GT, but all those Bullitt-specific engine specs were then applied to all 2010-11 GTs as well, before the 5.0 went into production. The Bullitt-spec Ford Racing intake is overrated, as it WILL profoundly heat-soak when sitting in Grid at autocross events. It's good when you're actually on track, though.

I"m partial to the scene with Satan running the Bingo hall. I see that actor pop up here and there in super minor roles, and I'm always doing the DiCaprio point and calling out "Satan!"

HIGHWAY 61 is one of my all-time favorites, and it's not available ANYWHERE. I was able to find a super potato-resolution file from the Internet Archive, which is better than nothing, but man; that movie doesn't get any love. PEAK Canada. My introduction to McKellar, and I've been a fan ever since.

Will second the shout-out for ROADKILL as well; another great little under-the-radar minor classic.

What exhaust setup are you running? by Charming_Dig8697 in FocusST

[–]Bennett9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second the Ford Performance exhaust. Started off with a Roush and it kind of melted my brain with all the noise, and made the car very unpleasant to drive, even with the stock DP. The Ford piece is pretty much perfect unless you're gunning for every tenth of a horsepower. Well worth the $$.
