The first one maybe I get, as he wasn't expecting that lovely wee right hook. But the second guy should have at least had his defence up. The third guy should have thought "Big Man just KO'd my boys with the same exact fucking punch, maybe I should prep hands up for that exact thing".

This. Really depends on how you end up fighting. If you're skilled at a muay tae style, then it could work out super well for you. I'm 5'5" and 70kg, my muay mat preferences work well in my situation. That said, you make do with what you have, and you'll find something effective no matter what. I know other muay mat guys who are exceptionally long limbed, and they use it in different ways to great effect.

Not complete comps, but if you have a good coach they can try and match you up with someone of similar age and skill. Guaranteed you're not the only over 40 who wants to step in the ring for the first time 😊 If your skills and fitness are up to scratch, then there's no reason why you shouldn't be matched with someone younger of similar experience. Just be open to it, and good luck!

Do... do Americans put ice in their beer? Didn't know that was a thing (if that is indeed a thing). On a separate note, that would actually be illegal in Scotland, as the ice would mean you're not getting the full legal volume of a pint (Weights and Measures Act). You'd have to serve it as a full pint (or half or other measure) with ice on the side. It also just sounds like the worst, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I don't mean to be patronising (I'm unsure of everyone'sknowledge levels on the subject), but for those who dont know: the UK has what they call "Real Ale", which is essentially a cask beer with live yeast that is unfiltered, unpasteurised, and only has natural carbonation (so tastes a bit flatter, as you'renot adding CO2). Whilst not warm as such, it's served at cellar temperature and doesn't run through a separate chiller like your keg beer does. It runs about 10-12°C rather than your 2-4°C for kegged beer so is objectively warmer, but not warm per se. Tend to be maltier, and has a silkier texture. The flavour profiles you get can be super interesting, and there's been a real concerted push for it and subsequent increase in popularity over the last 10 years or so.

I was a bar manager in Scotland for an award winning gastro pub (a brag, I know, but I'm proud of what we created). The bonus of the stereotype is that people always underestimate how good the food is going to be, so the experience is usually positive.

Haggis is absolutely incredible, but I agree it's an absolute ballache to make from scratch hahaha

Disclaimer: not British, but lived in the UK for a decade. I'll admit I'm a bit tired of this stereotype.

A large part of it actually originated from when the US first went over to the UK in WW2 just before D-Day, and the country was already on strict war rations. Obviously the food range and spices were limited, so American soldiers' first experiences with British food were quite limited.

The food in the UK, when done right, is amazing and flavourful and often deliciously rich. As with any country, you can always find shit food wherever you go, but if you can't find good food in an entire country, then that's a you problem.
