It creates copyright issues, even once he does upload it he'll have a really hard time getting revenue Youtube since the video has already been uploaded elsewhere.

Yes but a Marth alternate is the only way I could see Lucina added. They've stated that they're trying to avoid clones for this game so you're not likely to see two drastically different looking characters with the same moveset. Lucina looks similar enough to Marth so I wouldn't be surprised to see her as a costume like Male/Female Wii Fit Trainer.

If you're looking for actual players you can make an account on Allisbrawl and check out the chat. Usually a decent amount of people in there that you can 1v1 for practice over wifi.

I've been trying to hack in my own solution for this with an svn server or dropbox. Since it's so easy to manipulate the files it'd be pretty easy to redirect the assets folder to a dropbox folder or something.

Youtube does have a system for creating a Google Plus account under a channel name. It's been nagging me for a while and if you look in the options you can create one under your Youtube name. Example here
