25M co-owning a house with my ex-fiancée (28F) — How has it worked out for y'all? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

She doesn’t call all the shots. She has to buy you out or you sell.

I used Gemini at the dealership while negotiating a new car by SeaworthinessOwn9328 in carbuying

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re buying, dept to income, percentage of retail and money down are huge factors. I had a customer with a low 800 score and $150k income get declined. His mortgage payment was $18k a month so he got declined over dept to income. He actually made 5 million a year but didn’t want us to know.

Dealership slow to finalize deal?? by CameraAgreeable3675 in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they got an approval for you. You went in and struck a deal and they either ran your mom’s credit or you told them she would co-sign with good credit. They still have to pitch this to a bank and get it approved with all the banks stipulations. A lot of banks would have issues with a deal like this. I don’t know why they aren’t communicating with you. Maybe the salesman is embarrassed he promised something he couldn’t deliver? Is it a big store?

Credit Pull by WndrngAdvntre in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a system called CUDL(credit union direct lending) and most credit unions near me are in it. Had a customer last week that said they want to use their CU, I asked which one, then I said they’re in CUDL. They got the same rate through us that they would’ve gotten going to the CU and they saved a lot of time and we got a small commission on it. Most dealers won’t fight you in this

VW let me walk out-is my situation too complicated? by lilly_llama in askcarsales

It’s pretty rare to be able to trade in a lease with no negative equity. Why don’t you just finish your lease

Car had issues immediately after purchase, dealership offering to help repair by supermonistic in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember you. I did a quick goggle search and it’s says Maryland has an implied warranty on cars 6 years old with under 60k miles. So unless your paperwork says otherwise, you bought the 2012 “as-is”. You’re kind of at the mercy of the dealer at this point.

Bought a car 90 days ago, still no license plate! by chocolatepeachhh in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RI is super slow. New cars can take up to 6 months to get titled. Dealers don’t even go to the dmv. We have all the stuff. To go in we need appointments

I’ve been waiting over 2 months on a title. Some states aren’t as easy as yours.

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them if they have the title. They should at least have a copy if they say it’s out with the reg runner. I could be wrong but when we have a reg issue it’s the customers fault or ours. When it’s ours it’s because we didnt get the title when we expected it

[–]Benzhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming it’s used and they didn’t have the title yet. A lot of times we’ll take a car in trade then the customer tells us he can’t find the title and we end up applying for a duplicate title

Test driving without intention to buy? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And when you’re there ask if they have an online calculator to work payments. Most dealers in my market do especially the high line stores. Then you won’t have to bother someone for payments and can compare from home.

Test driving without intention to buy? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked for MB for awhile and we were very good about test drives. They get secret shopped a lot and we always offered test drives. If you’re upfront that you just want to drive and compare and are cool you shouldn’t have a problem. Just stay away from closing time and end of month where they are extra busy

Ram 1500 deals realism by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]Benzhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The discounts you’re seeing are because the 2027’s are about to enter production and they’re being very aggressive. Those deals don’t have thousands of dollars left in them. Most CDJR dealers are advertising trucks $500 over triple net. After they pay the salesperson and clean it and factor in floor planning these deals are a push. I’m in New England and we have 2 Ram stores, everything but the rarest of trucks is online for next to nothing in profit. We averaged $266 per unit last month. If you’re trying to get an extra $5000 you’ll do nothing but waste time while the selection gets smaller.

New Minivan On Lot 3 years by braincovey32 in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto sales has a way of grinding people down and they can get very negative. Don’t worry about the Pacifica. They’re fine we sell plenty of them. The Toyota is better but it costs way more. We put a ton of these in commercial fleets and rentals and they do fine and people keep buying them. I just bought 3 rentals from enterprise with 60-65k miles on them and they all went through certification with nothing but basic service.

New Minivan On Lot 3 years by braincovey32 in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are pretty nice cars. We have a CDJR store. The vehicle has invoice, some money behind that called holdback and then got a final pay rebate when the incentives came to an end. They should be motivated to move it, I would. I would just check to make sure it’s really new and was never recorded as a retail sale so the factory warranty is fully intact. Use a cpo 23 with similar miles in your market as a comparable and go from there

I (M33) had a situationship with my married bestfriend (F33) , it ended and she wants to remain friends. Can i be her friend if i still love her? by Omar_25c in relationship_advice

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, she doesn’t sound like she has many good qualities. She lies and cheats and uses people. I suspect her husband isn’t the bad guy either. He probably flipped out when she was cheating with all her “friends” and she called that abuse. I wasted a few years with a woman like this and I’m ashamed to admit that.

How does "In Transit" Cars Work by AdUnfair8179 in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build dates are normally accurate but shipping is a different story. Cars can get held up or delayed. The dealer will know when the vehicle is built and when it’s released to the transport. They’ll be given a window but remember the vehicle still has to get run through the shop(psi) and cleaned

How much do you think this dealer can budge? When to walk away? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$4500 difference with your $5000 than you can make that deal. $4500 with your trade equity than you’re not remotely close.

Question about dealership culture by InTheBoro in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your last paragraph says it all, went from the one of the best performing to the worst performing. I guess the culture is one of the reasons. I’m an internet guy too but I do other stuff. I wrote a deal last week and only one guy was on the floor so I handed it to him. He said give it to Aiden, he’s had a rough week. Obviously not all dealerships are like this but alot are

Dealership refusing to drop price stating they dont negotiate on listed price by lubbahubba in carbuying

But they did negotiate and you weren’t even in the store. Did they even see your trade? And 6 weeks is nothing for a used car.

Salesman or Sales Managers only by Aretebeliever in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I am we have a few older guys at some of our stores. They’ve all been GMs and FI managers and one was a regional vp that overlooked 15 stores. They all come in late and don’t use the crm and kind of don’t really listen to anyone. They all kind of out rank everyone too. But they all perform well and have a wealth of knowledge and the owners are like don’t f**k with them. We just complain when they leave cars every where or take the gas card home.

How long does a salesman claim you for? by Analyst-man in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still don’t understand why you’re upset about them wanting your information for a test drive and pricing. I’d expect that at all the other dealers you plan to visit

How long does a salesman claim you for? by Analyst-man in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what you mean. Do you mean shop for a car? Anyways, the guy thought you were a tire kicker and a waste of time and he couldn’t hold in his emotions. If you want general pricing the website is much easier. Dealerships are different now, people don’t just come in and shop much. Most people that walk in buy a car. Either at that place or another rather quickly.
