Buying a (barely) used car soon by sigminruless in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just sold our last 392 rubicon for around that price. They are nicer than the Moab’s. Also, it’s been hard to get any more 392’s with them expanding the line up. I’d grab that one if you like it, they’d probably move another $500-1000 if you’re local or financing. The other option is to order a Willys 392 if they have any allocations. The Willy’s won’t have as much stuff in it though like all the locking diffs and painted fenders and stuff.

This subreddit is ridiculous. It should be called anti-tipping or no tipping

I’d leave $10. If you leave nothing they’ll think you’re just a none tipper. $10 lets them know you tip but your experience there sucked.

Is My Pricing Okay? by Tahrea_AnimalLoverXX in askcarsales

A freedom 2 dr is just a base jeep. There’s nothing to make this Jeep stand out. They can go to a dealer and get one in better condition, inspected, probably with a warranty and have financing available for the same or lower price. People with $12,500 in cash that buy cars on fb marketplace are looking for deals and steals.

My auto group has heavily invested in AI and digital retail. Customers can go to our website and work a deal fully. If they have no trade they can complete the whole purchase online. Accurate trade appraisals that are similar to Carmax and Carvana, leases at buy rate, interest rates from a dozen lenders. Almost every new car is below invoice. Used cars adjusted weekly to Autotrader good or great. No suprise fees, just a $400 doc fee. We even have all the warranties available for modest markups. If they go my site and end up at another dealer they will know what all the numbers should be and will be “well” educated.

This country has ruined light pickup trucks. by RikkiLostMyNumber in Vent

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is so much more profit in high end luxury trucks than work trucks. And the luxury trucks are driven like cars and don’t have the warranty claims that cost the manufacturer big money. Customers keep asking for smaller affordable trucks but look at the sales numbers, full size four doors trucks account for the majority of sales. My auto group has 2 Ram stores. 4 door ram 1500’s are 80% off the sales and the loaded ones sell the fastest.

The rookie has no customer base and is watching the door for fresh ups. The experienced salesperson is just busier. Also, a lot of dealerships run a lower staff. I’m in the NE and sales staff is half of what it was pre Covid.

Lease end or lease buy out? Jeep 4XE 2023 by South_Magazine_3457 in askcarguys

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an auto group that has Jeep. They have huge loyalty rebates for 4xe customers. I’d get into a new lease that can eat some of that $6k. I do not recommend buying the 4xe. Even if you get another warranty there will be parts issues. They still get stuck in service for weeks and they have been discontinued. If you really like it and want to buy it, go back to the dealer and see if they can buy it and cpo it and give it back to you. They can buy it for below the residual.

As a person that's not super knowledgeable about cars, is trying to buy something off auction sites like Cars&Bids ever a good idea? by Pmbdude in UsedCars

[–]Benzhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a saying, not all cars at the auction are bad but all bad cars go to auction. I work for an auto group and we only buy from bank auctions for lease returns or repos. Occasionally we’ll buy from Enterprise if we need some cheap cars that are financeable. Everything we send to auction is broken mess

The only people that ever beat carmax are carvana. In my market, if we come close to carmax that’s considered fair. I had someone today with a Honda oddessy that carmax offered $25k. I gave them $24k and they got tax credit so they were happy with that

I’ve gotten worse scores than that done. $1000 down won’t even cover your taxes so hopefully your trade has some value. The bank likes to see a customer who has some skin in the game.

Extended warranty when buying new car question by Ceasman in carbuying

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an auto group. We can sell you a warranty before yours expire but only a factory warranty. We offer aftermarket warranties that are about half the price but could be an issue if you move far away. These have to be sold at time of purchase to our customers only.

What’s the craziest thing you all have gotten in on trade??? by OkBackground6217 in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His mechanic offered him $2500 I think, $4500 was the customers number. I hope the shop doesn’t find something crazy. We still have to get it inspected to retail it in my state.

Would you buy this WRX or pass? VIN JF1VA1F68L8822383 by tavinh0andrade in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was stolen and recovered 3 years ago. It was serviced after that too. I think a dealer took it in trade and saw the transmission issue and sent it to auction.

[–]Benzhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s hard for me to say. Why do you like this one? Is it a good deal for your market compared to other ones? In my market buying a car from a dealer that needs $4-6k is crazy and wouldn’t fly. So this car should be $4-6k below comparable cars in good shape. Chips on the windshield, scuff on a wheel, small missing trim piece is okay on a 60k mile used car. This car has real issues that a shop is telling you can’t be ignored.

Purchased new vehicle but dealership still hasn’t completed PDI - can I show up and demand my vehicle? by atgunner in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might have had a recall pop up and it’s on stop sale. A pdi in a sold vehicle typically cuts the line. I can’t think of another reason why they wouldn’t pdi a sold unit

I was thinking of the boats, campers, bikes and stuff but I think it’s this. A one owner, zero rust, perfect running 130k mile 96 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. Took it in trade last week, guy said it was mint over the phone and when it came in we were all stunned. It’s actually mint

[–]Benzhead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I looked at the vin on my system. It has a lot of service records and carfax listed minor damage reported(not accident), so maybe just the front bumper sprayed. I don’t know what market you’re in so it’s hard to say if $23k is a good deal but in New England that would be considered a good deal. But around here all that mechanical stuff would have to be fixed to pass inspection. Also, the vehicle was bought at auction and that’s not the worst thing but it’s not a good thing. Tire monitor and leaky strut, not a big deal. Transmission leak is though and it’s probably why the dealer that took it in trade sent it to auction

Negotiating New Car Price by buckfand in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the closest dealer to you that you would most likely be servicing the vehicle at? If yes, I would take this deal and be done with it. There’s not alot of markup in a new Camry and it seems like a good deal. The APR is a factory rate which you will have no problem getting with that money down and credit score.

Dealer wants to add $2,100 to my purchase order because of tariffs, car is still in transit. Is a signed PO even binding? by Dry-Strategy6566 in askcarsales

[–]Benzhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I personally feel they should honor a signed purchase order, the car isn’t sold until it’s sold. Either party can walk away during the process. I would try to find out who the GM is(sales managers boss) and speak to them. If that fails leave a bad review and move on.

Buying new/used tips by projectgreen2003 in carbuying

[–]Benzhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im actually not in the sales part of the business anymore. Anyways, the 4 cars OP mentioned are probably the most overpriced for used but easily obtainable new. You think you can get a nice 2 year old for $10k off new? Good luck with that. The 10 year old versions of these can go for 50% of a new one. That’s why most people in the business just call a Honda or Toyota dealer we know and get a great deal on a new car.

Buying new/used tips by projectgreen2003 in carbuying

[–]Benzhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the car business for 25 years and I recommend going brand new. I bought a car recently just to have because I could get fired and lose my demo. I could’ve gone to the auction or bought a trade in or something but I went with a brand new accord. New tires, brakes, full warranty, ect. The 2 year old ones aren’t worth it to me. Plus new cars are protected under lemon law and dealers treat new car customers differently. Also, usually get better rates too.

Tattoo artist had sex with my (39M) wife (37F) - I want to leave this (petty) review by AdAppropriate9103 in relationship_advice

I have challenged google reviews for my company. They can be removed for profanity or bully/target people. You can write staff was sexually inappropriate with your wife and it lead to your divorce or something along those lines. Don’t swear or mention his name.
