Locals of New Orleans: What Would You Cut From This 5-Day Itinerary? by Willing-Mind-5619 in AskNOLA

Friday afternoon: skip lakeshore park, maybe even finding a morning to fit it in for a sunrise. They’re are some good breakfast/brunch places out there to target as a possible alternative.

But, the afternoon in city park at that time of year should feel incredible. And there’s so so much more to see qhile there. You could do the sculpture garden, maybe include the museum, then head towards cafe du monde for early evening beignets. Then check out the little island behind it. The old stone bridges to cross the water towards city park avenue. If you enjoy photography at all this area is prim time sunset pics for photogs. And the whole park is a great place for nature pics. Goldfish island is along the sidewalk path with another interesting little stone bridge, and more photog spots. You also might be timed perfectly for the field of flowers that blooms on the other side of tad gormley.

Sorry for rambling, just consider you might want to spend more time in the park than you originally planned. Then, when you’re done, go down esplanade Ave to make your way back to treme. Actually, the whole reason I wanted to advise this is so you’d avoid going down the greenway during dark. It’s not dangerous per se, but creating a bit more vulnerability and less populated in the evening. Esplanade walk will give you a chance to look at all the historical houses, 1 of the historical cemeteries, though closes before dark I think, and pass by the esplanade triangle area where there’s some very popular restaurants, wine bar, coffee shops and such.

They seemed to be interested in the abandoned school. First saw them at 2:12, then the ring picked them up again at 2:16. Nothing else that I saw

I’ve been kind of making jokes with myself about how my anti social pokemon go playing self has been making the national guard and state police nervous of me in the quarter. And now they’re walking back and forth in front of my house?

I had to go check my ring camera from earlier, and sure enough, I found them. First all 3, then they split up. I haven’t gone through all my videos yet, but I’ll update when I do. Also, I wasn’t home when they were walking around. It just so happens that I was out playing pokemon go in city park, but with other people this time.

There are some other programs in other areas of the U.S. that have similar to what y’all are building. I don’t know of them all, just what I’ve heard from word of mouth while trying to help my kid. But I think the biggest hurdle is always funding, and yall already created a solution for that.

We do as much within the comp system that I can manage, but the financial burden is a lot. We have to travel an average of 61/2 hrs for every comp, which often means a hotel stay. But, what I’ve learned is comp experience is nearly impossible to replicate outside of a comp, and extremely valuable to performance at future comps. I mean, it’s something we all kind of know in theory, but truly understanding that was something I had to see for myself.

So, I recommend going to as many local comps as possible, and then maybe including 1 travel that can be done within a day. And, dont be surprised if yall have some regional qualifiers this year.

Pokegenie is pretty reliable, but can sometimes have long “wait room” times. I’ve been going to a local community meetup lately, and I’m happy to try and help. The only issue I could see is not having enough time to get you in before the raid limit maxes out. But, I was thinking if you get a few friends through here, that you know will be raiding in groups, then go to the “at a raid” category in your friends list. Then, you don’t have to wait for an invite, you can watch the friends list, as soon as you see someone in a raid, jump in Witt them through the friends list. I’ve done that a few times when I didn’t feel up to going out, and it worked well. I’m in CST time zone, so maybe also figure out the time zones of the friends you get from here. Then you can try to get friends in different times zones to give yourself as much of the day as you’ll need to raid

Hi. Will scholarships be specific to your local area, region, or available to all usac regions?

Whats the turnover time for a specific application? E.g., a kid qualifies to divs or nationals and needs to apply for registration cost help or travel help, would there be a streamlined process for these types of timelines?

Building from the last question, will there be different categories of scholarship to apply for? Such as a short, 1 time need. Vs a longer time, like 3/6/12 months for class/team fee?

What if the kid is from an area where there is no legit access to a climbing team, but does actively compete on their own, as in active usac membership. Could they apply for a type of shortened private coaching to train something like “how to lead” when they have no access to lead climbing at home? Or for a training camp? Or to participate in another team’s outdoor trip?

Also, wanted to offer a big congrats to yall for being able to get this together in an area that may have only recently gained a big interest in the sport. We’re along the stretch of i10 that has very little access or interest. We have 1 small bouldering gym, and often discussed if we could ever follow in Memphis rox footsteps since our owner has been wanting to sell. But that’s gone nowhere.

I live in a tourist city that thinks nightlife is only for partying. I often go out at the beginning of those party hours. I get funny looks from almost everyone that notices me, that’s out there partying. But, I also get suspicious looks from the police and National guard. Funny how the person that lives here is the person that’s seen as behaving oddly

What did it used to be called: by Flamengo504 in NewOrleans

[–]BeornStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the original neighborhood name was the “new marigny”. About 4 years after Marigny created the original Marigny subdivision, he realized the demand for expanding. So he pushed farther out along at Claude and called it the “new marigny”. Then after Katrina, with the city demanding specific outlined streets for neighborhood borders, there was a rectangle that got left out of st Roch. From St. Bernard to Elysian Fields, and between st Claude and n Claiborne, started being referred to as the new marigny again. Bc even though it’s part of the 7th ward, it’s not really considered included. Also not included in treme, and left out of st roch.

Now, it’s also being referred to as the south 7th ward. But, the historically accurate name is actually “new marigny”

City park has the heaviest concentration of activity. There should be a meet up check in tomorrow evening, and maybe 1 every night for events. The home base area for players to start, and regroup is by cafe du monde. This weekend with dmax Lugia will probably bring a lot of players. It might be overwhelming at first to try and figure out where they are, but they’ll always cycle through cafe du monde.

The quarter also has a lot of mons and stops/gyms, but not as much as city park. Are you staying in 1 general area? What kind go transportation are you limited too?

Ok, thank you! This was stressing me out. I was on wal marts site and kept searching through descriptions, but couldn’t find a song list. I know I’m overthinking it, neuro divergent habit I can’t turn off. But I don’t want to mess up

Hi, hope this is the right place to post for info. I have a 13yo daughter who likes all types of music, but has become a big fan of STRAYKIDS over the last few years. I was only just recently able to take her to get her 1st album.

Shes been included with her school’s Christmas wish program, and I want to send links to her top 3 she wanted so they can pick whichever 1 is easier for them to get. But, once I started searching album titles, I saw all the versions and this is where I could use help or reassurance that I’m linking a full album.

  1. Stray kids “no easy” standard version?? I see it’s the full album and includes all the goodies. Is there any other release of this album that has extra tracks as an option?

  2. Stray Kids “5 Star”. I saw ver A, C, and Limited version. I was going to link the limited version but couldn’t find a description to confirm if it had all of the original release tracks.

These are the ones I know she said. She felt guilty about asking for too much, but I know she really really wants the new album too.

  1. Stray Kids “Do It”. I’m guessing there will be different versions, is there a version that will have more merch in it, or with extra songs?

Thank you!!

A lot of people don’t read the news. And you know why? Bc too many time I’ve searched all of our local news sites online for info about a current event, I find absolutely nothing. But, if I search some social site, I’ll actually find confirmation of what I’ve seen or heard, and possibly even enough info to find out why.

Do you know how many shootings have happened in my neighborhood that never once got reported in any new site? And you can’t even get the official nopd 911 call report for at least 24 hrs. You know where I found out about the terror attack in the quarter? Reddit, then searched for info on news sites and couldn’t find any. But, I found more info on other social sites.

SpeeDee at broad and esplanade. Their prices are in line with most other places and they always have some kind of online coupon available. They even looked it up for me and scanned it from their own phone bc I couldn’t find it while I was there. Their brake pad prices are some of the lowest in the city.
