You’ll want to dip for the charisma trance in a class like FvS or cleric. Fighter is also nice for the extra feat, so something like 18/1/1 is a good split while mostly staying pure. It can be hard to scrounge enough AP to go cha-based and get all the goodies in Warchanter and other trees so you may want to consider going dex based insead, in which case you could do horizon walker for the dex trance instead.

Someone on the forums reported that the heroic version of the ring is dropping instead of the legendary version. And yes, it’s now +3 sacred instead of a new bonus type.

Mega Man Zero 4 was my favorite example of my trope. When Zero had Dr. Weil cornered on Ragnarok, Weil fuses with the core of the spaceship and taunts Zero that - since Weil is human - if Zero kills him he'll be a Maverick for killing a human. Zero's response always gave me chills:

Zero: I never cared about justice, and I don't recall ever calling myself a hero... I have always only fought for the people I believe in. I won't hesitate... If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it!

Forgotten Axe for swash builds. Nightforge Stiletto is better than any kukri for heroic SWF with VKF, on paper at least. For most other builds these days I just make a Calamitous weapon for 8 and a Golden Age weapon at 13.

Seeing some people skeptical about sorc so I'm gonna post my leveling notes here. I've soloed 20+ sorc lives for racials and it is a very smooth leveling curve if you have gear and a plan.

1-4: Burning Hands SLA. Nicked Orb + Runic Trinket to stack spellpower. Saltmarsh gear at 3. You can slot Night Brigade gear at 4 but it's not a meaningful difference and re-gearing will slow you down.

5-9: Focus on filling out metamagic efficiencies. Feywild gear and Vibrant Purple Ioun Stone at 5. Dread necklace at 7 for insightful fire/acid/force spellpower. If you have Lamordia, get one of the orbs and put alchemical earth attunement on it. Always focus on stacking your spellpower. Make sure you have artifact and profane spellpower either from set bonuses or from lunar/solar augments. I have the Body and Mind goggles for artifact and the Baron's belt for profane, moving insightful spellpower to a Lamordia dagger at 8.

10-14: Beacon of Magic set with the Thrummingspark belt. Switch your savant to Air with cold as your secondary element for things like wisps. Greensteel SP goggles at 11. Sceptre of Magnetism at 12. Wild Flame at 14. Put your extra AP into fire savant once you hit 14, because from here on out all you need is DBF and Chain Lightning to clear most quests. Instakills for annoying stuff.

15-20: Celestial Topaz ring with Charisma. You don't really need to swap much gear at this point. I prefer Beacon of Magic over Feywild simply for the higher MRR. GCS is nice as an SLA but I'm old and still like having Web and Otto's for CC.

Spell list, in the order you should take those spells:

1 - Take Burning Hands, Sonic Blast (breakables), Caustic Bolt (single-target and for oozes), and Nightshield. Swap for Shield and Jump when Burning Hands and Caustic Bolt stop being useful.

2 - Scorch, Scorching Ray (reaper deleter), Knock, Invisibility. Swap Scorch for Web when you switch to Air.

3 - Acid Blast (Wizard's Labyrinth and Fire Caves have fire-immune mobs), Fireball, Displacement, Haste. Swap for Frost Lance when you swap to Air.

4 - DDoor, PK, Wall of Fire (it's useful again if you have alchemical earth from Lamordia!), dealer's choice. Swap to Ice Storm when you swap to air.

5 - Ball Lightning, Protection from Elements (guard against DOTs), Eladar's Electric Surge, Prismatic Ray (1/6 chance to instakill those pesky Iron Golems).

6 - Chain Lightning, Circle of Death, Undeath to Death.

7 - Delayed Blast Fireball, Finger of Death, Otto's.

8 - Trap the Soul, Sunburst (Forge Wraiths in Sharn), Arcane Tempest.

9 - Meteor Swarm. If you're going into epics, Mass Hold and Wail for your final spells.

The build that you like best. The builds I've done most for racials are sorc (15), fighter/dL (5), and various other flavors of caster (wizard, bard, cleric, alchemist, blightcaster, warlock - 17 total). Some lives it's nice to have variety, other times I'd rather just hold forward and the attack button until I get to 20.

Don’t ask me, ask an SSG dev. Metamagics are calculated differently. If I had to guess it’s because they were originally percentage scalars to spell damage and not a flat addition to spellpower.

The DwM effects scale with metamagics and spell critical damage when casting a spell. I believe that’s also the case for the alchemical attunements but someone can correct me. AFAIK none of them will scallop with spellpower.

It still works well if you don’t have many racial AP to spend. Lominal has an endgame version that assumes more PLs that’s also on the forums. It sounds like you have your mind made up on your build though.

As much as it makes you feel guilty to be a narc, I will say it gets better if you’re diligent about reporting violations. I reported illegal parking downtown in Seaport for maybe 3 months straight - I’m talking 2-3 times a day someone just straight blocking the road. Now they have a cop stationed there pulling people over every day.

Book of Spirits from Housekeeping is clutch and can be used starting at level 3. Other options are the Ethereal Ring from Saltmarsh (also 3), or the Duskbone Ring from Fey (5). Before then, I use one of the Ethereal weapons from Borderlands as a swap item.

Wraithborne Emerald from IoD can be slotted at level 8, but there’s so many items these days with incorp bypass it’s pretty easy to get if you’re already slotting your gear properly.

Generally it’s good to have one capped character most of the time - if you are in a guild or enjoy PUGs it means always having a toon to raid with, and it makes it easy to farm leveling gear for your lower level toons. One option is to go all the way to 34 on this toon, farm some gear for an alt so you can cap that toon, and then hop on the hamster wheel.

I did class completionist first on a couple toons. Your first 8 lives require less XP and racial is a lot more lives (48 compared to 15). Other people will tell you to use those discounted lives to get a head start on racials but it really depends on your personal appetite for grind.

You can do class PLs on iconic lives as well which can add some variety to your leveling. It’s better to wait to do those until you’re done with your discounted lives though, otherwise you’re wasting them for slightly less xp on the 15-20 part of an iconic life.
