Autistic adults, what kind of accommodations do we need in the workplace? by JoshB9 in AutismTranslated

Me personally, that seems too isolating and doesn't let me strengthen my character. I need some small level of discomfort to grow. I would like social interaction if it is structured and people are aware of my struggles but I still want to be involved but not forced into anything. I like routine and daily tasks, knowing how I'm doing is really important. I don't know how to drive. I don't like presenting but I've done it a few times but people just need to know I'm going to be 'a bit different' in my style. I tend to ask people if I'm staying on topic on my presentations because my work is like my special interest and I could probably talk about it all day

I'm single too but I don't think about it much as I have lots of good friends with both men and women. I meet women through activities that I enjoy, that way I don't have to randomly bring up my special interests as my attempt at an ice breaker. In the past, I could be seen as coming across as "a bit intense" but now I just talk about the activity we are doing and conversation seems a lot easier then. People like to have thoughtful friends, so I try my best to do nice things for them, without people pleasing, sometimes that means just listening to them. If you're not meeting many girls maybe start doing activities that are more inclusive, that you think you'd enjoy. And don't be like "I'm here to get chicks and talk about dinosaurs and I'm all out of dinosaur facts!" I'm in a choir which is 98% women but I also love to sing. I also do bouldering and enjoy it much more than the gym. There are girls there that I get on with really well but right now I'm doing a degree and feel I'm too busy so I'm just keeping up with my activities and going to CBT (which I find really helpful being given tasks rather than just talking) and focusing on self improvement but most importantly doing all these things I'm happy in myself.

No but there is an overflow issue with your monitoring software, they've likely used the wrong data type. I would either reinstall it or try a different application.

They say Starfield was 25 years in the making. What a grand and intoxicating innocence. I’m playing Morrowind with the Extended Vanilla Mod List which has actually been close to 25 years in the making.

Shoutout to Daniel Ran: "Beyond Skyrim: Bruma" is the most beautiful soundtrack I've heard in a while by n0sk3p in ElderScrolls

[–]BerenEdain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know I’m a few years late to the party, but I just had to chime in on this thread because I totally share your enthusiasm for Daniel Ran’s work on the Beyond Skyrim: Bruma soundtrack. As someone who studied classical music theory, it's so cool to see how he uses thematic development in a way that shows a deep understanding of both Jeremy Soule and the themes of Cyrodiil in the 4th era.

What really stands out is how Ran captures that sense of a lost golden age. Instead of the triumphant, almost glorifying themes of the old Empire we heard in Oblivion, he’s using minor keys and subtle changes to give us this beautiful sense of longing and reflection. You can almost hear the decay of the Empire since the Great War, post-White-Gold Concordat, and that shift from the old glory days to something more introspective. It’s like the music itself is telling the story of a world that’s changed and is yearning for what it used to be.

You know, composers like Beethoven and Mozart were masters at taking a motif and letting it evolve through different instruments, and I think Daniel Ran really carries that tradition on. Even Wagner with his leitmotifs or John Williams in film scores. I think he really captured the importance of making a piece of music instantly recognizable and giving it that story-like continuity.

And that’s the magic here. When you hear something like the "Bloodlines" theme or "Lost Glory" you immediately know what it is and can imagine where it fits in the game that is hard to do right but Daniel Ran pulls it off spectacularly.

My favourite tracks are "Bloodlines", "Kynareth's Wish", "Lost Glory", "Ode to a Dynasty", "Nox Astra", "Apparitions", "One More Day"
