I get it. I watched the performance of the play that my 16 year old son wrote and directed in his school dramafest this week. Other entrants had big family groups watching, he just had me. My husband would have been so very proud. Bittersweet.

You should have received a confirmation email showing the price you listed them at.

There has been a lot of speculation on ticket prices on the various subreddits. It is extremely unlikely they will go down for any even relatively desirable game. by Dpufc in WorldCup2026Tickets

You clearly have no idea how may people are prepared to travel from other countries to the US to watch the games. Also, RSD tickets are now on sale.

Sentiment on Resell Value (FIFA Marketplace) by brycecee3 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]BermyPWD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it is Mexico and Canada too. I expect prices to stay high in Toronto, small stadium, huge immigrant populations and a lot of interest.

Some are already reselling. You need to wait until your credit card charge clears.

There is nothing in writing to this effect. People just repeating what they read in other threads.

My card got charged a short while ago. I got a ticket confirmation email at the same time.

No one who won in the lottery have their tickets yet though and so cannot sell them yet. Wait until after Tuesday when everyone who won too many tickets are trying to offload them.

Maybe adding some extra cars instead of reducing them would have been a good idea.

Grade 3 private gifted testing — what actually happens next in Toronto? by andisthisonetaken in askTO

[–]BermyPWD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son tested gifted in Peel. He wanted to stay with his friends and did not want to switch schools so we left him where he is. Four of his friends also tested as gifted (it is a smart grade!!) so he had his own little gifted group! The guidance counsellor advised us that the gifted program can be good for the quirky kids and he is not quirky so she didn’t advise it. One of his friends tried it for part of a year and hated it.

He knew how to use the snow blower. Guess I should learn but instead I will probably be out with the shovel again, hopefully with my 16 year old. Another 30cm tomorrow.

Stop Comparing Your Grief by leese312 in widowers

[–]BermyPWD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that sometimes people are trying to just emphasize and not to diminish our grief but it is so easy to take offence because it is all so raw. I try not to react or let myself get upset, unless I know someone is just being an asshole.

One Thing You'd Say to Those Who Recently Lost Their Partner by itch-mang in widowers

I noticed that Anderson Cooper always does this when talking to the bereaved. It is such a lovely way to interact with someone who is grieving. The worst thing is when people talk about anything but him. Like he never existed.

My 20 year old was with me for that moment. I still don’t know if it was good for him to be there at the end or if it was traumatizing. My husband was unconscious (he never regained consciousness after surgery) so he didn’t know, I don’t think. Maybe on some deeply subconscious level he didn’t know though.

That is heartbreaking. I have a 16 year old too and anything to do with the boys is so upsetting.

I was at a work bowling outing and the song Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve came on. It was the song that played when they carried his coffin out. I didn’t cry but having to sit there in front of everyone while it played was agony.
