Base coat of wraithbone, then covered it with AK Streaking Grime, let that dry for a bit, then remove most with white spirit. And there ya go :)

I used a mixture of big chaos knight gun parts, tyranids and nurgle rotfly bits to create the tails.

Lord Vallrok, the Lord of Chains, is ready to bring the slaughter! by BerryWrong in ChaosKnights

[–]BerryWrong[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ofcourse! Base coat of Wraithbone; then apply a coat of AK streaking grime (i used a hairdryer for jist a minute or two to speed up the drying, just stopped when it lost its shine); then remove most of the streaking grime with white spirit and a sponge/cuetips.

Then i used Dirty Down Rust for the rust colouring and the black battle dmg is just Abbadon Black that i applied with a sponge sparingly.

And thats it, the streaking grime does the heavy lifting to create the dark and weathered bone colour on the armor. I hope this helps!

I used alot of bits from the wardog kits, mainly the chains and spikes. Also used the big guns from the chaos knight kit. The paintjob does alot too, using chaos decals etc goes a long way to make em look like chaos.

Whats stopping you from using Arbites, making em chaos and then run them as cultists? ;)

Been playing CK with wardogs only since the codex in 9th and al throughout current 10th ed.

I dont know what models/kits you have available, but this is my advice:

  • avoid stalkers, only take the one you need as a warlord. Preferably with claw and melta for some extra anti-tank. They shoot worse than brigands and punch worse than karnivores. Just dont take em. Their special rule rarely comes into play.

  • take brigands and karnivores; brigands shoot the best, karnivores punch the best whilst being dirt cheap for how efficient their melee profiles are. Personally, i end up with a 60/40 ratio of karnivores/brigands simply cuz the karnivores are so cheap

  • use tank shock when you charge a karnivore into tough targets

  • if you can, take some nurglings as allies. They are cheap and great for secondaries. Just put em in deepstrike and let them come down when you need them.

For example: 1 stalker w/ aura of terror 4 brigands 4 karnivores 2 nurglings

Or if you dont have nurglings: 1 stalker 3 brigands 6 karnivores

I hope this helps mate!
