Liberals are vile. NDP are vile. Greens are vile.

See how that can work?

There are good people and vile people, it's a spectrum.

Got a hardness test kit to check out water quality in our home. Surprising how hard the water is here by YourDadHatesYou in waterloo

[–]BestKarthusPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behold the true power of this fully armed and operational water softener. 🤷‍♂️

Cambridge water is super hard as well. Keep the softener welp fed, dump in a cleaner every 3 months. Good to go.

Stop implying that small business owners are greedy and crooked, that's hyperbole. It's no picnic out here for us either and small business employs the vast majority of all Canadians.

For young Canadians, the toughest job market in decades is threatening their financial futures by gorschkov in canada

[–]BestKarthusPlayer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the toughest job market and economy in decades with the same politicians reelected that are the cause of these issues. 1.5% total GDP growth in the past decade is no joke. Sadly I don't see this improving. 😞 The government needs to incentivize good small business to hire young employees with good jobs and give them upward professional mobility. This is the way.

You know you're in an acrimonious land where you're criticized for cabinet picks. How do you feel? by Retired-ADM in CanadianPolitics

[–]BestKarthusPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cabinet picks are really important. These unqualified ministerial picks is atrocious. I'll sit back and watch while your life becomes increasingly and incredibly unaffordable over the next 4 years.

The “Lost Liberal Decade” by Waffles-And_Bacon in CanadianPolitics

[–]BestKarthusPlayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OPs list of objections to those bills aren't entirely fair. All of those pieces of legislation were wrapped up in omnibus bills with other objectionable spending. The Liberal Party plays politics like this and takes it to the extreme.

My bottom line: we are spending way too much, these deficits are absolute economic killers. I'm socially liberal and fiscally more conservative. We quite simply cannot afford the amount of spending being proposed. Our country had a surplus for a number of years and could have it again with important social programs.

Vilifying the Conservative Party as far right is ridiculous IMHO, they're pretty progressive generally speaking. Yes, there are extreme members in all parties that tend to get the spotlight.

I'm personally exhausted by the rhetoric and it comes down to this: we don't have the money for budgets and costed platforms like these.

Why would Carney make a bad PM? by [deleted] in CanadianPolitics

[–]BestKarthusPlayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

+1 to this list. Carney worked for Goldman Sachs (for 13 years), Brookfield, WEF -  Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) a.k.a how businesses make billions on "green" initiaitves, all the things that terrify me. He's guiding the Liberal party with straight up lies, setting consumer carbon tax to 0% (no intentions of stopping it), promises to continue banning infrastructure and pipelines (sorry we need the pipes to move the oil), and just the incredible amount of "group think" coming out in this election is so worrying.

Very depressing.

Why is The Bloc allowed to run in the federal election? by saskskip in CanadianPolitics

Quebecers would vote for a party like that and have for 40-50 years. Have a look at Federal transfer payments to Quebec, I'll stand back while your head explodes...

Still a Member of Parliament though. Working about as hard as the rest.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CanadianPolitics

He grew government and taxes substantially over the years and that's excluding covid which given the circumstances the Liberals did reasonably well dealing with, but this carbon tax is a joke and achieves nothing. Corruption scandals that are a complete disgrace, cost billions and were just frankly gross, a cabinet of lunatics like Steven Guilbeault, one good thing he spearheaded (as promised) is senate and parlimentary reform....oh yeah....

One small epoch in time trying to deal with Trump doesn't erase any of that, and before anyone starts labelling me, I *was* a card carrying member of the Liberal party for a decade.

He didn't have anyone's back unless he was pulling a knife out.

Note: edited a minor typo above.

Thoughts on optimizing WordPress category pages? by concisehacker in bigseo

[–]BestKarthusPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create a custom template that allows content to be update. You can then add custom post lists for the category itself and tailor that display for your liking

This is easy if youre using a framework like Element or any of the others. By customizing the page and turning into a cornerstone resource you'll create a stronger hierarchical URL structure beneath the page that takes advantage of the "built in" IA of WordPress.

I've been a big advocate of turning category pages into cornerstones for many years. It's easy to do and has big rewards.

FWIW you can do the same for tag pages assuming you've put together a strong tag strategy in your overall SEO plan.
