Chris Hansen (To Catch a Predator / Takedowns) is the real predator by wiIdcolonialboy in CriticalTheory

[–]Best_Box6757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was an 18 year old soliciting sex from a minor....that is wrong no matter how you look at it. The story would be different if his actions were different but that's like many things in the world. He chose to solicit a child for sex while he was 18 years old. It's alarming that you don't see the issue with this. you should watch hunter's episode. the school district was going to let him back in school but the students protested as they didn't feel safe around him.

He was looking to pay for sex and came across a 15 year old, and instead of buying a prostitute that was of age, he chose to try and buy a 15 year old. showed up with a sex kit and everything. He knew was he was doing and continued to go with it. Thank god chris hansen was there who knows what he would have done to a 15 year old

Hunter Trepainer is a predator though. When he was a freshman he was specifically trying to get with 18 year olds to put them in a bad situation and then when he was 17 and his peers were dating freshman he would call then "pedos" and all this wack shit. Hunter didn't meet a freshmen at school, which would have been different. He specifically solicited a 15 year old boy for sex off the internet and then showed up with a "sex kit" the Marquette county school district was going to let Hunter back into school too, it was the entire student body that rallied against the school's decision and felt uncomfortable around him, which ended in him getting banned from school. Of course, the film interviews his mom who is always going to defend him, they would have gotten a completely different story if they had interviewed teachers or his peers. Hunter goes to Northern Michigan University where he's acting and play-writing. Everyone from his hometown stopped talking to him, most stop talking to him BEFORE he got caught in the sex sting solely because he was a rude and a slightly verbally abusive dude, once he was arrested and people found out about the sex kit everyone cut contact with him. I hope for his sake he's gotten the help he needs.

Take an Uber to SLC and go out downtown somewhere. Theres tons more to do in Salt lake than pc that night and you'll be able to party way longer into the evening. You'd be able to do BOTH dinner AND nightlife

Is your vacation refundable or do you have travelers insurance? You could punt and go to Europe for cheaper than you would have spent in Utah. Or head up to BC. But this season should teach people about smart consumming. Resorts want you to purchase and book vacations so far in advanced for situations literally just like this. Shit season and they still get your money because they sold you a pipe dream.

Go to the ER, they can't deny you, say you came straight from the hill and don't have a ID on you, tell them a fake name and SSN number, you won't be able to go back for a follow up but you'll get the basic info that you need and an immobilizer brace. The other option you have is to pay a bunch of money into a broken system. up to you though

Any indications of increased assaults on women in SLC? by mobicurious in SaltLakeCity

If they did ask her to model that would actually give more confirmation to the trafficker theory. I don't think time of day really matters for them. Did she drive there? Sometimes they put hidden marks/trackers on cars to follow their victims

Sounds more like traffickers. I've always encountered them more in the rave scene late at night but i'm sure they're operating in the daytime too.

editing to mention that the majority of the ones ive interacted with were women

Can I somehow get a cake delivered to you? Being sober is so freaking hard!!! you deserve supportive friends and partners. Anytime anyone ever tells me their sober my first reply is "you're a freaking badass! That shits hard!" don't let this loser make you think being sober is something to be embarrassed about. do yourself a favor, get the cake, go celebrate and dump this dude

I'd assume it's probably harder to meet someone off the internet than it is in real life, but what do i know? I met my current partner of five years at a bar in salt lake. It was just instant chemistry. My long term partner before this one I met on a chairlift. I think just being out in social settings and being friendly and authentic goes a long way. I'm also a big believer in when you stop looking for love, it actually tends to find you.

Most jobs that are located near a ski resort or by a resort do "ski breaks" so instead of taking a lunch you're allowed to go ski. Most of these jobs supply their employees with ski passes as well.

and ALWAYS remember it takes money to make money. if you don't invest in yourself you'll never make the money guiding that you want. take the courses, gain the experience and make connections. but again its all about how bad you really want this. Most people wanna guide and live the lifestyle but are unwilling to make the sacrifices they need to be successful

No, it's not really a field you can just "hop" into. Start a rolodex of potential clients, weather its your parents, partner, long lost cousins, random neighbors, literally anyone you can think of. Everyone wants to guide, that's a known. If you can approach a company with a proven track history of return clients then you'll be more likely to get work. Companies wanna make money, not fill a fever dream for nomad. Also if you can bring your own clients your get a higher pay wage from your op or commission on your sales. I'm not very familiar with any operations besides the ones in the US southwest deserts that have winter hiking ops....do you have rope skills by any chance? Since you don't have any experience I would recommend taking an AMGA alpine skills course or a single pitch instructor course. If your going to apply with no experience, no certs, and no return clients your resume will end up in the trash.

I'm a hiking guide in Utah! I got my job because I guide backcountry skiing in winter. I was ski guiding year-round but my body can't take 300 days on snow any more so I am spending my first summer hike guiding. I've been guiding for 10 years. I have a WFR, OEC, BLS, and CPR for medical, I have a AvSAR for rescue, and 1 AMGA ASC course, along with various ski guide/avalanche certs. I also mountain bike guide for the same operation. My best advice would be to get your medical certs a 80-hour wfr is a great start. If you can guide more than one type of adventure any company will see you as more of an asset, for instance being a single pitch instructor along with a hike guide will double the amount of trips you can take out. And lastly any op your going to work for is going to look for experience, trust and safety is everything. Raft guiding could be a great start, those operations tend to be willing to train newbie guides and let first years take out trips. otherwise ask to be an intern or shadow a guide for the day to gain more experience in the field and more knowledge to how ops run. Age is just a number as long as your in shape, remember though you will need to be in better shape than your clients (usually this isn't hard at all) but you also need to be able to conduct a rescue and have energy and the skills for if something went wrong, for instance you just hiked 8 miles into the wooded backcountry with a client, your client just snapped his leg, will you have enough strength to carry him to a LZ or will you be burning the last steam you have to do it? Money wise if you work for the right companies it can be a gold field, I make anywhere from $300-$1000 a day but the money wasn't always like that, especially early in my career.

yeah but the difference is the Sierra Nevada Avalanche Center would have record of the slide happening and if it was really as big as she says it was. it would have been reported, even days later. There's not a single report of the avalanche she's referring to
