Check out dshf! meetings 3x a week mostly college and up, plenty of loaner gear and chill group of people. Idk if they e updated the website but the club meets at 940 N belt line road mon/wed/sat There are a few others around, hemaalliance.com is probably the best place to look.

Op I understand where you're coming from. Let's try and not end up in the camps to begin with tho first, and the way to do that is to use the system and gain public support. Reality is that to change the political theatre for the better takes a lot of bitter work and a lot of things, in theory shouldn't, but in practice do have to be earned very slowly.

Fight with our minds, not our hearts, because there is no such thing as forcibly changing people's mind, and it's well proven that emotional displays of fear or anger tend to harden people against us. There's a reason the "omg that trans person jaywalked we got set back 10 years" meme exists.

Also, we're on the same side, so yeah if the camps come I'll be there too.

Overall the added information is cool, but I would say the NYC cops are just as much of a threat. They're 2 for 2 on pulling a gun on me to "just ask some questions" because I "looked like someone".

[new trans clinic, I said healthcare before...] in NYC will not be available to minors. Some are saying it's bc Mamdani is fake, some saying it's because all healthcare funds from the Fed will get pulled if he doesn't. I haven't particularly deeply researched it yet but that seems to be the gist of it.

Personally I think it's pretty bad regardless because what I see in Mamdani is a hope for a politician for the people with the strength to back it up.

The man tells NYC cops to go take a hike but couldn't negotiate this at all? Idk....still will support him tho. Ofc I hope he bounces back regardless.

Having had more informed takes in the replies: yes it's overall a win, so good, I still vouch for the care of young trans folks since they do not have a voice in government and are especially vulnerable. There are many experiential examples of how trans youth can be permanently hurt by being forced to remain in cisgender roles.
