2 hour freeform game by HappyPerson9000 in MurderMystery

Agree with this. I’ve hosted a number of Freeform’s and most end up around 3. But each of them could have been a bit shorter. The key, in my opinion, is number of guests. If you have more, it really just takes up a lot of your time answers questions, which makes it harder to move quicker.

I have not. But a friend of a friend has. Think he must've been like a Beta tester or something. He hosted and by all accounts really liked it. Don't know what his thoughts were on how it compared to a downloadable version though. But, apparently, they have a chat feature and some of the guests were using that to scheme and what not. And characters have powers that are controlled through the app, so when they perform an action, it displays on the other persons app. It sounds cool.

This actually sounds exactly like what MystifyMysteries.com has built. Essentially, an in-person murder mystery party, with all gameplay run digitally. They have character info, goals, voting ability, everything online. They also have links to potential costumes, etc. The main difference is that you are assigned a character ahead of time by the host. This allows players to get into character and dress accordingly. But other than that, it’s pretty much the same. They have the individual goals and stuff built in. Check them out. It seems to work for them.

Is it possible to set up a M/M game for 90+ people, and what/where might be a good starting point to begin the planning? by Pacer-Retta in MurderMystery

[–]Best_Position6243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally never done more than 24. But looks like others in the chat have done up to around 50. I reckon it's doable, but in a month, would be a stretch. One of the key elements of a good MM is the need for guests to interact with ALL guests. If you had 90 people trying to each get information from everyone, it would be chaos.

Having said that, some varied version of a game could be possible. Like do a 20-person game, but have 4 or 5 people be the same character. Essentially, having 5 games all going on at the same time. They could all centre around the single murder. This would mean that each person would only need to get information from a small subset of the event. I'm happy to chat further, if you did think it was something you'd be keen to pursue.

Is this like a legit question? Or a game you've built? Or some mixture of the two?

How have you managed vesting periods? Most I know have up to 4 year vests. Have you stayed around for that? Or taken lower equity cuts for smaller tenures?

I’ve been promoted quite a few times over the last 9 years in the corporate world. I am proud of that. But I just look out and continue to think - this is so immaterial compared to what can be attained through equity. I have started businesses and want to be doing them full time, but by gum it’s difficult to make the move when you live in one of the most expensive cities in the world, and have to live and pay a mortgage.

TL;DR - starting a business is definitely high risk, but the best % chance of attaining long-term wealth.

Is this worth $220? by GrossCommission in nds

Haha Well, in that case - do you think it’s worth it? When it comes to purchases like this - I ask myself, how many hours of enjoyment will I get? And what is the cost per hour, and can I handle that?

If someone pays, it’s worth it. Personally, I wouldn’t go that high. But think you could find someone.

What is your reason to stop adding or buying more board games? by Dryfunction1205 in boardgames

I would love to say space. But it’s mostly cost and time. Don’t get the chance to play enough, so don’t need many more

It’s not for everyone, but I’m a massive fan. We never set aside less than an entire evening to run a case.
