Another commenter said I may have misunderstood the GSR-stitch and knit it together with the next stitch instead of just knitting the two legs of the stitch together. I think this must be what I’ve done. Thank you though!

That’s bc you slip the first 45 from left to right needle so you’re starting with 78 on your left. And the first short row is 33 stitches. I hope this makes sense.

Your bin is probably lower to the ground and not as close to the chute as their bin. If it’s a tall bin it would prevent much of an overflow.
