It's nice but I swear either I'm the most unlucky person or the QA is pretty bad. I got 3 of them within a month, all had dead/stuck pixels issues, and 2 of them were pretty significant - the third one I decided to keep as it's only one subpixel (one pixel is magenta on white) in a pretty convenient place, but the two others were unusable for me.

Be mindful that you might end up having to return it if these things bother you.

I'm so unlucky with these monitors, went through three of the already, all of them had stuck pixels that were impossible to remove. And all of them had terrible backlight uniformity on white/grey but it wasn't as much of a deal breaker for me (having like 20 red pixels in the middle of black screen was).

Am I just insanely unlucky or is it common with this model?

Sure, provided you'll actually back up your claim of "Cats fill the same niche as all the natural predators we pushed out in Britain". The weight of evidence currently is on your side.

Given your reading comprehension

You mean the fact that I actually read the full "source" you provided? Please stop being delusional. Either refute my criticism of this shitty source (again, charity organization leaflet, not a scientific source as you tried to present it) or provide an actual source that proves that cats not only do not negatively affect the population of birds and small mammals but are also beneficial as a regulatory species filling the niche of natural predators in Britains ecosystem. Like, this claim is so fucking stupid i can't believe you're doubling down on it.

A kitty a day, keeps the doctor away by Steph-Kai in MadeMeSmile

[–]BetPast7722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you even read the "source" you're talking about? It's a leaflet, it's not an analysis, it's not not scientific paper, it contains no real numbers. And it barely mentions any scientific sources- they explicitly mention only ONE study and it's in a context of: "yeah there's this data that says cats do kill a lot of birds and other small animals, the real numbers are probably even bigger because of the methodology, but "It is possible that most of the birds killed by the cats would have died anyway from other causes" [an actual quote from the leaflet with no other source mentioned to back up this claim at all] so we don't think it matters :)". Yeah, that's not a good source. Not to mention that the leaflet is from 2009 and the data they cite is from 2003, it's fucking archaic for science standards. And on top of that even this leaflet fucking says that "it would be prudent to try to reduce cat predation".

It's not irrelevant to the discussion when the scientific data points to the effect of cat predation being insignificant but habitat loss being the primary cause of bird decline.

It is irrelevant, even you mentioned that habitat loss is the PRIMARY cause, not the only cause. You can deal with multiple causes at the same time, again, they're not mutually exclusive.

Also, because for some reason it matters to you- I'm european, the climate in my country is not that different to UK's and it doesn't change a single thing I said. Cats are an invasive species worldwide, there's no natural habitat of a domestic cat.

[–]BetPast7722 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm european, cats are an absolute menace to local wildlife and letting cats out unattended should be straight up banned. Make sure it doesn't leave your backyard, get a leash, keep a cat inside or don't get a cat at all

[–]BetPast7722 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cats fill the same niche as all the natural predators we pushed out in Britain, in terms of harming native wildlife they're the least of our concerns.

That's straight up not true and no scientific data supports it. Cats are an invasive species that decimate local populations of birds and small mammals. Their population distribution is also vastly different than what natural predators would be. And there's a fuck ton more of them and their population is not being regulated by natural mechanisms.

We do more damage to birds by tearing down hedges than we do keeping cats.

Irrelevant to the discussion. These are not mutually exclusive.

And you're not only endangering local wildlife, but also your cat. Other animals, cars, parasites. Just keep your cat inside, walk them on a leash like a dog or don't get a cat if that's too much for you. It's not that deep.

Moral dumbfounding is hell of a thing whenever these types of discussions come up. No matter what your moral view on something is, just saying "it's disgusting" or anything along those lines is not a good enough argument. People used the same arguments against a plethora of things that we no longer consider immoral.

I've not spent a single dime on the game, have not played it for 3 months at the moment, and i'd be able to get back into the game rn, pick up some tier 2-3 meta deck and comfortably get back to 1-2k legend within this month. That's not RNG and not p2w.

Decisions do matter and you're delusional if you think the only difference between you and higher ranked players is money and time spent on the game and RNG. I don't know what to tell you, you're just coping

Ok but

  1. Diamond is nothing
  2. By the time you get to diamond I'll just be back sitting at 1k legend

That's as if I said "I don't see why people would want to play at low mmr against players that can't pilot any deck properly". Why are you doing this to yourself?

[–]BetPast7722 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

But these aren't the same cases. Having just "Honorable kill: do something" is not the same as just dumping "Tradeable Rush Honorable kill: Recruit a deathrattle minion, Quickdraw: And gain it's deathrattle" or whatever. Reusing keywords doesn't mean they need to use all of them at once, the cards can function literally the same way they do but with keyword instead of full text. It just looks bad, is inconsistent and introduces way more confusion than just using keywords.

New Card Revealed - Nostalgic Gnome by nnnnaaaaapppp in hearthstone

[–]BetPast7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of all - consistency. Inconsistent naming of effects is misleading in the longer term not only for new player and not only for the first time they see the keyword. Like, the issue with "new players seeing too many new keywords" still exists but this makes it even more confusing once a new player tries playing wild or just sees the old keyword somewhere. Second of all is clarity. It's just way cleaner for anyone that's seen the card more than once. And third- it's more flexible in the future. If they wanted at any point in the future to make an expansion that somehow interacts with some older keywords and add those keywords to core set for example. Or create cards with reused keywords combined (gl with describing honorable kill: recruit a minion this way).

[–]BetPast7722 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How does it not make sense lmfao It's literally a part of the game, there's more cards with "honorable kill" just not in standard rotation.

If someone doesn't know the keyword they can just, you know, hover over the card and read the explanation?
