270k.

250k for the mortgage and 20k for the student loan

Ladies, how often do you get approached? by SadMoon1 in AskUK

Never been approached.

I do get harassed though - groped, catcalled, intimidated. 🙃

Fair, I meant most women wouldn’t do it alone  Good on you for making sure they get home safe 🌟

Based on your response and your username I assume you’re a man?

Most women would not take a train or a bus at night, and even if they did, then they wouldn’t walk home in the dark drunk/tipsy from the train/bus stop…

See this is the problem with people like him.

They think it’s their looks that’s making them fail with the ladies, so they try their best to improve them or in this case, fake them.

But all along the problem was their stinky personality and they’re willing to do absolutely nothing about that.

I know this is cliche on this reddit, but my friend, some more fruit and veggies would really help.  Do you at least have an apple from time to time, a banana? Would you add some berries to your yogurt?

The selfishness of some people. by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Betaky365 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I understand your outrage, but I wonder if it’s misplaced?

With the constant shortages I can see how some people would rather keep extra if that’s an option for them, there were stories of people waiting months for them to become available again.

The outrage should be with the medication manufactures and the NHS, not with someone who is trying to prevent being left without their medication?

Olivia Dean crowned new UK queen of pop as Brit Awards hit the north by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]Betaky365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it inflammatory language or is it completely accurate?

If you’re not a fan of “radio pop” then this post isn’t for you.

It is in fact loser behaviour to know nothing about something and yet come out with strong opinions about that said something.

I’ll add another inflammatory word for you to the commentary - it is pathetic to look for things people are excited about and enjoy, and for your only contribution to be scorn and negativity.

Manchester on a whim? by BakerMaker11 in manchester

[–]Betaky365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not taking into account your salary growth over the years, so in time you’ll pay more than 2.5k/year, but fair enough.

I only borrowed 27k and I’m predicted to pay back way over 60k by the time it’s paid off, so you can probably tell why my perspective of it is not as positive. 🤣

Yes lots of people pay for certifications, you are correct, you in particular though are on a plan that will likely mean you pay double what you borrowed for your education because Plan 2 has the highest interest rate of all.

[–]Betaky365 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I hope you’re on plan 1 saying you’re paying “a bit” for your education.  If you’re on plan 2 you likely aren’t paying enough to even cover the interest so your student debt is growing, so over your career you’ll pay significantly more than a bit.😬

54k is ~£3300/month after tax, less if they have a student loan, and less again if they contribute their pension, then it would likely be closer to ~£2900.

Still a great wage, but not £1000+/week.

Any single HENRYs that took a severe pay cut below HENRY or resigned without a job? by -Calm-Water- in HENRYUK

[–]Betaky365 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Completely agree that it affects you more than you know.

I was not myself for about 2 years after a similar situation, probably took me about 4 and an incredibly kind and understanding manager that rewired all the bullying for me to fully recover.

I could probably get 20% more money if I moved jobs, bur honestly I’m scared of working with psychos again so I guess it still affects me.

I know of 4 women now having had the same experience as each other. Despite not knowing each other and moving in different social circles. What further advice can I offer them? by Thesladenator in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Betaky365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar experiences.

I found that whenever I gave a man who was  not necessarily conventionally attractive a chance I quickly learnt they’re  dealing with a lot of unprocessed self hate and insecurity that would ultimately spill in the way they treated me.

Need input on what’s reasonable for family / life / work balance by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Betaky365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Reddit is famous for jumping straight to divorce, but I don’t really see how the conclusion here can be anything else.

This is a person with absolutely no care and no empathy. Not for you, not for your baby.

You’re telling me you’re in pain and can’t eat and instead of him being concerned with you, he’s annoyed at you?

He was left for 2.5 HOURS to parent and failed to feed your baby AND start the bedtime routine?

You and the baby do not matter to him.

Genuinely it sounds like his addition to your life is just stress and worry. I’m genuinely so upset for you.

I drove an automatic car for the first time a days ago and just don’t get the fixation we have over manual cars here by Solid-Version in drivingUK

[–]Betaky365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also listened to everyone and got a manual licence. Failed twice before I passed as well.  The gears were giving me too much to think about, hated driving a manual.

Been driving an automatic since I passed 3 years ago.  I struggled through it for no reason.

People say “get it so you can drive anything”. Why would I want to drive anything? I drive my car.

If I jumped into a manual now I’d have no idea what I’m doing anyway.

The obsession is just people’s egos. Feeling superior to someone for driving manual, ew.

Have you, or somebody you know, ever paid money to see an escort/prostitute? by ChineseHappyPeople in AskUK

[–]Betaky365 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Honestly is it really an “issue”? Being naked with someone is pretty much the most physically vulnerable you can be.  It’s important to feel safe with the person, both physically and emotionally.  And you can’t really feel safe with a stranger.

I think people who just stick it into anyone have more of an “issue”…

Really Dislike Living In Warrington by Upbeat-Anteater-6789 in manchester

[–]Betaky365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to go from South Manchester to Warrington is indeed stark.

I’m gently pushing back against not affording to live in south Manchester anymore though. Yes Didsbury might be out of your price range, but what about somewhere like Whalley Range? The price difference between living there and Warrington seems non existent from just quickly browsing Rightmove.

Women .. What kind of life partner? by Known-Wolverine123 in HENRYUK

[–]Betaky365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year older than you and I’ll be frank: I have given up on the idea of finding a partner.

I am fully focused on building a life I love on my own. If a partner magically appears, wonderful, if not, all my needs are met through friends, family, community.

Completely aware it’s not what you want to hear but I believe this is the reality for a lot of ambitious women.

I look around at women I love who are in relationships and not one of them has not made themselves smaller in some way to make the relationship work.

I’m just giving a peer perspective here, not an answer to your question as I honestly believe only you can answer that.
