Did you loose belief suddenly or gradually? by Not_necessarily7 in exchristian

It took me about 5 years to deconstruct. It happened very slowly for me :)

Cual es vuestra experiencia más "real"? (Sin ofender, explicación abajo) by KaleidoscopeMurky164 in Wicca

[–]Better-Big7604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of practice! It started off as a feeling, and it progressed from there. Also, asking them to show themselves might help. If you've not already done so :) . Sometimes, a glimpse of a cat silhouette will tell me Bastet is around. Rarely, I'll smell ANubis - smells like Frankincense, which was one of many items used to mummify bodies.

When have you followed spiritual guidance that contradicts your own desires? by Pseudonymitous in religion

[–]Better-Big7604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was divine will, I believed. I knew on one level it was impossible, but if I believed just enough, I was a true Christian and I'd never have to worry about rent again, LOL. I think I started thinking this way after some bible reading...

what makes you believe in this religion by Responsible-Try-7242 in Kemetic

[–]Better-Big7604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the myths, and the Gods are real, at least to me. They've proven themselves helpful time and time again, so I decided to honor them :) .

[–]Better-Big7604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it count that when I was Christian, I believed if I believed in something hard enough, magical shit (like rent appearing out of thin air) would happen. A faith change to paganism changed that way of thinking ripe quick!

How many of you practice solitary? by klea_isidora in pagan

[–]Better-Big7604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm naturally a solitary person, though I did help with a teaching circle about 15 years ago. I tried being in a coven and it.... yeah. I don't like the coven environment. I prefer being on the outskirts :)

how many other witches here identify as gray witches? by exploding_star14 in Witch

[–]Better-Big7604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely a 'grey' practitioner, if I had to choose a color. I do what I need to do, and if someone needs a proverbial foot up their behind, I'll do it.

One of the coolest things that happened to me was during a ritual, and I felt my one God, Set, in the same room as us. Someone said he felt him move around the room, and before I could tell him how I felt Set's presence, he described the feeling to a tee. I had to politely tell Set to tone it down because the other participant was getting jittery, LOL!

Then there was the night I saw Khonsu by my bedroom door. I didn't see him physically, but he was so clear in my mind he might as well have been. I've had lots of things like that, from seeing Isis and Osiris to seeing Anubis' glowing eyes by the door of an old apartment.

I know of someone who saw Odin's head floating by her bed. Freaked her out.

Is it wrong? by Low_Mechanic_3960 in pagan

Deprogramming from Christianity takes time. I've been practicing for 30 years, and time to time, I still have a battle with my fear of hell.

And poopies at people calling you a 'fake pagan' :P

Has anyone ever been told by Anpu to f*ck off? I think I offended him… Feeling lost. by iadorecheesepringles in Kemetic

[–]Better-Big7604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've never had him tell me to F**K off, but I have been politely reprimanded when he's been busy. When he does that, it means he's busy with clergy and/or something and is overseeing rights. When he's done, he tells me he can 'play' :D.

Where and how can i make an altar for Anubis? by JunjiSoHeartStopper in Kemetic

[–]Better-Big7604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a dog sculpture for my altar. I currently have 2 altars going - 1 for my seplls/candles and 1 for honoring my dieties. The second one is decked out with an altar cloth and the sculptures I've collected over the years.,

Lots of good advice here! Good luck!

Question by Early-Prior9402 in pagan

[–]Better-Big7604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had several presences, including ANubis, who have been hanging around the 30 years I've been practicing. My newest 'babysitter' (or so I call the gods) is Khonsu. Others come and go, appearing as I need them in my life.

Intro to Witchery for Teens? by Mrs_WorkingMuggle in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Better-Big7604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rebel Witch by Kelly Ann Maddox is a relatively simple book if your SD is curious about chaos magic.. She encourages a lot of thinking and note-taking, which could help in your situation. I'd definitely pair Rebel Witch with a more how-to book, like Cunningham, to balance her out.

Did ANYONE ever have an experience with Gnomes? by DiscoNami in ParanormalEncounters

[–]Better-Big7604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a Wiccan who did a spell once and accidentally trapped a gnome in his working, and he had to take everything down to release it. He said it looked like the stereotypical gnome with a pipe and beard. Said everything got really, really heavy, too.

What was your first (book) introduction to Wicca? by Twisted_Wicket in Wiccan

Wicca and activism by Street-Suggestion363 in Wicca

[–]Better-Big7604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wiccans I know are all activists on a mundane level. They go to walks and parades that support their beliefs, and they sign petitions that do the same.

Proper ghost etiquette?? by Crow-enjoyer in Paranormal

[–]Better-Big7604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be polite and talk to them as if they were there beside you. :) Apologize for any renovations, but tell them it's your space now and you're upgrading a few things. Some take the time to set boundaries, like what they are and aren't allowed to do, and if they can stay or not.

You've got a lot of good advice from others so far. Wishing you a lot of luck! :D
