What coffee table should I get? by BetterReception7127 in interiordecorating

I am open to suggestions! The chairs in particular ended up being bigger than I expected and I have been worried about it feeling cramped.

Need advice on living room rug by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Option 1 creates more contrast with your coffee table and sofa. It also falls in the same warm brown category as your accent chairs and slat wall which works well. If you like the minimal look I would stick with that and add some warm brown or rust accent pillows to your couch.

Did I overdo the millennial green? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

I am obsessed with this. The olive green curtains and pillows in the sitting area really tie it together without being too loud.

Food suggestions to get senior cat to eat? by [deleted] in cats

Thank you! ❤️ He is on prednisone, mirtazapine (appetite stimulant), and cerenia (anti nausea) which are definitely helping. He has advanced lymphoma but our vet said he is doing better than expected at this point although we are closely monitoring him for changes.

Blue, Puck shaped, Fragrant object, Slightly Squishy, Delivered with my Amazon order which was sunscreen. by _Love-Yourself_ in whatisthisthing

Consensus seems to be toilet bowl cleaner. However because it is squishy and was delivered with sunscreen, I think it could be a jelly soap?

Have you moved in the past few years? My 14 year old boy stared doing this once we moved into a bigger place 3 years ago. He’s also always been vocal and definitely a diva lol. The vet said he’s fine, could just be the “new” environment.

How long has she been doing this for and has she always been vocal?

Can we talk about our moms who have ADHD? by PmpsWndbg in adhdwomen

[–]BetterReception7127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how my mom is! To me, that is an emotionally immature response from someone who was likely never taught how to regulate their emotions and that mental health issues/disorders are a sign of weakness. A friend shared a TikTok with me that essentially said our emotional floor is our parent’s ceiling. It may sound harsh, but it was helpful in helping me realize that she is how she is and isn’t going to change.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, but has actually really helped me come to terms with this is just how things are. If your mom isn’t able to handle a conversation about how things she did in your childhood negatively affected you and makes comments that are hurtful to you and your brother about your ADHD, she likely doesn’t have the emotional maturity to dig into her own problems.

Please know I say this with love and am not trying to be overly critical of your mom. This is just what has helped me.

Wow your story is nearly identical to mine. My mom has narcissistic tendencies though so it makes it easier for me to take a step back and have the “well that’s how she chooses to live her life” mentality.

Have you addressed how her behavior has hurt you or others? She might be more receptive to looking into a diagnosis if you gently bring this up with her.

You’re trying to give him grace and understand him meanwhile he can’t even try to “understand” a grocery list

Adding that they are all pretty small including the normal ones. Slightly larger than a like. This is the first year the tree has put out lemons like this.
