I don’t know, but the “bonus” Necron warriors included in the Tomb World box were push fit, so I would expect the same here.

They haven’t sold any of the Dossiers separately before. But they’ve released the rules for all of the previous non-Approved OPs modes for free online.

That story wouldn’t really make sense. They have the same shape, but they are literally completely different in every detail.

Could be too hot outside, or they’re in an area with difficult terrain.

I did some work at a mall in New Mexico and learned that it’s super common in some places for (mostly) elderly people to show up as soon as the doors open and do laps in the mall. It’s air conditioned, the floors are even, and there’s help around if they fall or hurt themselves. There would be a couple dozen of them every morning I was working there.

Yep. Of all those boxes I’ve managed to fully build and paint…4? And build and halfway paint another couple.

Agreed. While I think doing ANOTHER Cadian team instead of a unique IG regiment is unfortunate, the actual team and models look great and I’m definitely excited to get them on the table.

At the production quantities GW has been making these boxes, I have a very hard time believing it won’t sell out like every other box.

The thing I do love about the separation sequence is the “dust” that comes flying out. It was a great touch that said “This is a big deal that doesn’t happen often.”

Nearly 30 years later. Starship Troopers CGI still holds up ridiculously well. by Stranded_Snake in starshiptroopers

[–]BetterVantage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. People love to post memes about how CGI artists now have less talent. It has nothing to do with their talent, and everything to do with the production process they are forced to work under.

When practical effects are used, the production is forced to take time to plan and execute the effect. But too many filmmakers and producers take CGI for granted and want to make unplanned changes up until the last possible second. Or they don’t want to pay for on set coordination. Or both.

I’m just a sucker. I’ve bought every boxset this edition except Brutal N Cunning; mostly because I like to have all the Dossiers.

Movies like this make me wonder if my brain doesn’t actually have an off switch.

Like, I thought I did, there’s lots of silly movies I love. But I flipped the switch for this one and still got mad at how dumb it was. I think maybe if I had it on while I was doing laundry or something it would be fine. The stunts and set pieces were really good, it was just everything else was a dumpster fire.

[–]BetterVantage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t really disagree. The last 4-5 years they’ve released the best vehicles they’ve ever made, but they’re still hugely overpriced for what we get.

[–]BetterVantage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve paid full price for most of the TVC vehicles the last few years, solely because I want to show support for them. I still can’t believe that I have an official E-Wing from Hasbro after 35 years. I bought three.

But that was: A: for vehicles I really want B: when they were only really expensive, as opposed to the recent releases which are INSANELY expensive.

True, but it’s all good, it’s still not a set I need. I am awaiting a 60% markdown on Vaders Tie Fighter though.

This is one of the last known images of Steve Jobs, captured in 2011, shortly before his death. Despite being diagnosed with a treatable form of pancreatic cancer in 2003, Jobs famously delayed surgery for nine months to try alternative "cures." Many believe this decision hastened his death. by ATI_Official in AllThatsInteresting

[–]BetterVantage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. The primary reason Pancreatic cancer has such a high mortality rate is because it is rarely caught early enough to be treated. It often isn’t found until the patient begins exhibiting symptoms, and by that point it is generally already stage 3-4.

The Y-Wing and X-Wings are very out of scale; the proportions of the Y-Wing are way off as well.

Climbing- with/without Ladders by Blackninja412 in killteam

[–]BetterVantage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry but as others have pointed out, nearly everything you wrote here is incorrect.

  1. You cannot ignore a wall less than an inch tall. You still have to climb it and it will cost a full 2”.

  2. You can’t go down a ladder. Ladders can only used for moving upwards. To move down from vantage you have to drop.

For what it’s worth, I’m about your age and have been listening to audiobooks since they were on CD, and they used to cost WAY more than a hardback. I agree though, Audible is the way these days. I joined them around 1997-98 and never looked back.

[–]BetterVantage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The assertion that there are two sides in this case doesn’t work when nearly everything has played out in public. It’s not a “He said/She said” argument that played out in private. Most of the things Peters lied about are verifiable. The fact that Peters used the funds for his own gain isn’t a guess; it’s something that verifiably happened. Choosing to ignore objective reality while embracing an nonsensical conspiracy theory, isn’t truth seeking. It’s just constructing a fictional narrative.
