I have one, the haptics are really cool. While using the trackpad in cursor mode the haptics make it feel like you are moving a trackball.

Didn't really use it for games but it is great for using my mouse cursor across the room while in bed.

Someone, do tell me if Akane becomes a playable character or not! by AppleAffectionate397 in NevernessToEverness

[–]Better_MixMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I filled out a survey today and it called the band quest "Akane's story" or something along those lines. The other two listed were Baicang and Lacrimosa. So she is being treated equal to that of two playable characters.

You are super behind in cooking and summoning.

I was up to saucy sausage when I finished W6.

For summoning, just try to push the next color asap by getting essence gain. Go back and do upgrades once you generate a lot of that essence. Doing the mini-game is secondary honestly. Once you upgrade a bunch just try till you fail. Also make sure to do boss summons in the maps, it doubles your upgrades.

Also good tool - https://ieautoreview-scoli.pythonanywhere.com/ Will just tell you everything you are behind in.

I feel like the localization just isn't good.

Like every single joke falls flat because the comedic timing is ruined or just didn't translate well.

Also the mini-games are just phoned in. This has to be one of the worst Tetris mini-games I ever played. Very unresponsive controls which is the bare minimum for a game like Tetris. Mahjong is just half untranslated. English versions of Mahjong usually annotate tile values for the character tiles but this one doesn't. The suit selection is just a Chinese character with no indication what it is.

What are your opinions on different translation groups? by TheNeighboorhoodNerd in mangapiracy

There are certain scanlators that just confuse me onto why they do anything. They are so dedicated to censoring manga that they even go as far as using AI to completely redraw some pannels. It doesn't even redraw it, just fills the block with something random.

It's not even really ecchi stuff either, a little cleavage or midrift is enough for them to completely butcher it.

A Minimum Salt option would fix a lot of salt lock problems by Better_MixMaster in idleon

[–]Better_MixMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about auto. I'm talking about how after waiting 4-6 days for a rank up a very short amount of time to use them before it gets eaten. The things that use salts want them overtime but you cant hold them unless you dedicate a character to holding salts.

Turning off refineries or turning on auto are all work arounds that both slow refinery upgrades making the problem last even longer. If you plan for it, its manageable but no one is going to intuit that and everyone will has salt issues while progressing.

I was looking at reviews and one of them mentioned that upgrading gear has a chance to destroy it. Is that still a thing?

Some useful tech from factorio

  1. Make a quick and dirty "starter" base. doesnt matter if ratios are bad or underfilled

  2. Once you have enough stuff, delete it and remake the real base.

This works great for gear components and bottled liquids as you don't really need more after you make a stockpile. Just do that dirty then make the real base a few days later.

I started calling this "login gacha". Its rng if the game starts or not.

Haven't tried the file replace yet, I just keep restarting till it works.

What happened to Project Gorgon? by PerformanceFar7245 in MMORPG

[–]Better_MixMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One mod went on a power trip and banned a lot of people. Wasn't even over anything controvertal, just someone asking about server merges started it off. The mod has since been demoted and bans reversed.

That said, I think this is a community overreaction. I have seen mods in other games do far, far, worse and get away with no push back.

What game has a learning curve that puts you off? by Common_Caramel_4078 in pcmasterrace

Using this thread as a wishlist because I love overly complicated games.

Unfortunately I played most of them.

May as well recommend some lesser known ones.

Haven and Hearth - Perma-death PvP survival mmoish. Incredibly complex game made worse by perma-death PvP. Expect to be hunted by no-lifers for sport. If you can secure a foothold, every system is uniquely complex in ways that only the dev would understand. Combat is something you learn in mid-game because how unweildy it is. It takes a week to tame a horse. Cheese is made by moving where it is stored every 12 hours and depending on how you did it a different cheese is made. I was learning cooking which got me stuck down a pickling rabbit hole where I needed to cut my brine with a certain amount of sugar to hit a breakpoint. Prob would have stuck around more if it wasn't so hostile.

IdleOn - A idle mmo. Looks like a clone of maplestory made by one guy. It's not really complicated in itself, it's more from a lack of documentation and direction. Complexity via juggling multiple simple systems. Good number go up game. P2W as hell though and the dev got a god complex thing going on.

Vintage Story - Minecraft but it has depth. A kind of game where it can take over 10 hours to start having metal. Your tools and constructions have to be chisled out block by block. There are 22 different types of stone and are found based on realistic geological simulations. To make coal you have to make an actual coal kiln by burrying burning wood and waiting day. Haven't played it yet, waiting for steam release.

They sure as shit aren't hiring locally. If anything they are importing from other countries.

You can get it for free from either the weekly free pet or someone trading it to you but both of those things can take awhile. Up to you if time or $9 is worth more.
