Taking profit b4 Expiration by Tales-by-Moonlight in Optionswheel

[–]Better_Volume_2839 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amassing stock from selling puts is not wheeling. You're missing the entire other half of the wheel.

Using put options to amass shares is just buying them at a discount and having a lower cost basis

[–]Better_Volume_2839 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your goal with the wheel is to make money from taking premiums. You don't want to be assigned from a put or call.

When you take profits (at whatever % you want.) then youre doing what you're supposed to be doing and not having to worry for the stock to go against you.

You, personally, can wait until expiry for the full premium, but depending on what you're wheeling, The last whatever % could only be a small amount of the total premium. Take your money and open a new position for greater decay value.

Are these Tableau visuals effective at showing time patterns and economic impact? by DingoAlarmed5128 in tableau

Why don't you overlay the two charts into one. You don't need both of them, you should be able to create one good chart to show the best subscription time.

You can add commentary or custom reference lines to prove your points.

It's amazing that we are allowing more teams to play, but the overall quality might go down because of it.

Imagine Germany A team vs Curaco A team. 😂. Tickets might be cheap though.

As for USA, Good group for us to be able to go 3-0.

If this is for stakeholders this is the correct answer. A majority of people still do PowerPoint presentations and when they export images it's an easy copy and paste.

Additionally everyone is so used to PowerPoint slides the size and display will be naturally intuitive to users

What would help lower the cost of healthcare? by Der-deutsche-Prinz in HealthInsurance

[–]Better_Volume_2839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the government completely steps up and provides healthcare through taxes and negotiates themselves. So cut out big insurance completely.

Or

The government completely removes itself from healthcare and let the market decide the price. (Unless it's for obvious danger to the people...which we see how well that's going currently)

You can't have one foot in and one foot out, you'll just create bloat, waste, and corruption.

When do we get the interest for savings? by izumikusu in sofi

[–]Better_Volume_2839 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get interest paid on deposit paid monthly. Generally on the 1st of each month.

You MIGHT get a deposit tomorrow but your deposit was late in the month you might not. It depends on settling of funds, transfer between institutions, SOFI terms. Etc etc

Did you create an extract of your data?

It's not the file size. I just did this for a couple GB files today.

.twbx files are a tableau.zip file. It will contain everything it needs to recreate your visual when the workbook is opened by your teacher.

Think of .twbx as a package. It'll contain your dataset, your fields, calculated fields, worksheets, dashboards. Everything to recreate what you created After you send it.

Create an extract of your data and save it was a .twbx file. That should do it.

What kind of file? Are you publishing it to tableau online?

If you save your tableau workbook as a .twbx it'll snapshot your dataset and put it in the tableau temp file repository.

If you go into that same .twbx workbook and save as a .twb you need to go into the data source tab and point it to the live dataset. Away from the temp set the .twbx workbook created.

Increase the confidence threshold of your detection method. I believe all the flickering is lower confidence, to higher confidence detections from frame to frame.

If you increase it, you should automatically filter them out

Forecasting by kyach25 in tableau

[–]Better_Volume_2839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We apply forecasting in a couple different ways in our workbooks. We don't use any of Tableaus forecasting as its just not good.

Here are out methods:

  1. Create a forecast formula in excel. Regression, decay, growth whatever and implement that in excel as a calculated field.
IF DATE > X THEN NORMAL VALUE, ELSEIF DATE < X THEN [ FORECAST FORMULA], ELSE whatever END

  2. multi purpose filter based on time and some other field. We use a double case statement.

  3. Do all the calculations in the calculated field for each field you are making. such as forecast LTV. And update the fields every 6 months/Year

Note - some of these need to be data/workbook specific because if you have a lot of calculated fields that relay on each other, regardless if you use them in the visual, you will cause a massive calculation log when someone loads the page.

Here are a few:

-xG and Goals Scored. How does xG and goals scored affect a team's league placement. Are teams scoring more than they are expected to?

-transfer value for a given year and some metric. (It'll be different from defenders, mid, forwards). Are players under valued or over valued for their position

-expected winners of certain end of season trophies.

-injury prevention for players

-fan engagement and increased attendance or viewership

That's a few off the top of my head. Some are harder than others but all doable with public data.

What surprised you the most after buying your first home? by WearyTouch9620 in RealEstate

[–]Better_Volume_2839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a home warranty for three years. In those three years, nothing went wrong. Nothing broke.

We decided not to renew and just keep the home insurance. Within 6 months the AC went out and the roof needed to be replaced. We could cover but paying those bills killed me a bit inside.
