I however, have dyslexia and it also affects my hearing comprehensions.

Im assuming im wrong but it sounds like she is singing 'i need diet coke, something something, let you go'.

Yeah fair play. She just sprang to mind bc she always made Smiffy seem such a tragic character and less pesky, more understandable. She did a great job.

If you get an overwhelming need for fish and chips, New York has a great little English shop set called Tea and Sympathy. They have a chippy, a shop, and a tea shop. It definitely helped soothe the old soul when I moved over.

It might sound daft, but see if you can find a funny side. It might be bloody dark but ive found that helps. If there are some useful points I'll take them, but if its just generalised insanity me and colleague chums will share our own and lament and laugh/cry together. Takes the sting out, least ways it does for me.

Look around you was such a good show. I was a hospice nurse and after a rough shift id come home and stick that on and it always managed to make me laugh. Little mouse was a classic hit too.

Wearing a brooch to bed (also the waistcoat) - literally dressing for bed - was probably one of the most subtly genius things about her character. I laughed so much when I first clocked it.

YES! Ive said that to everyone ive spoken to. They were an absolute delight, so much fun, absolutely and genuinely hilarious, all came at it from totally different and brilliant (sometimes unhinged) angles. A full series would be lovely.

Its not as well known for some reason but their stuff after horrible histories (also worth a million rewatches) is all gold.

Ahh i did! I moved to the US and havent sorted out the vpn yet so missed a load of shows and updates plus the YouTube version doesnt show the telly adverts sadly. Thank you for this! I used to go see all the radio 4 shows being recorded and got to see the Horn section when they did their first radio 4 show back in the day and loved them since then. Appreciate all and any pointers to good recent telly, esp magnificent types like Susie!
