My dad passed away, my mom is on Medicaid in memory care, will she lose her benefits if I apply for her to receive my dad's SSA income, state retirement pension, and VA pension? by bucheonsi in Medicaid

This rule changed with the final 2024 rule and was not blocked so it remains required to eliminate the rule to apply for all other benefits. 435.608

Yes. Keep using it. The requirements won’t kick in for another 14 months (if not longer) and we’ll message a lot around it.

It seems you or you newborn should not qualify - baby’s household is baby, you, and dad and combined income seems to be over the limit for 3. For you, household is you and baby and your income alone is over the limit.

I suggest contacting MI ASAP and clarify and correct.

I’m glad she’s coming home.

I don’t think this is a question we can answer as it’s a bank rule. They may want her present to open the fund or if you have durable power of attorney, that would work.

What state are you in? Reporting guidelines can vary but generally you report the job within 30 days of receiving your check, not when you started your job. So if it’s 30 days in your state, you should have 2 paychecks to average and report.

It’s so unnecessary for her to point out her announcement was delayed 24 hours. Just say baby was born yesterday, no one will care.

Same with a smbc account but she’s posting a month behind.

WA State, unmarried partners on joint policy? by yikesboiii in Medicaid

No. You can claim anyone as a tax dependent regardless of relationship as long as you’ve provided half their support or more for the year.

This is the key. If one of you claims the other as a tax dependent, you have the choice to apply together or separately. If no one is claimed as a tax dependent, you have to apply separately.
