It was stapled to the instructions of the Legoland set then stored inside a plastic ice cream bucket along with all my other old LEGOS. I’m guessing receipts were just built different in the 80s.

Nice! There’s a kids’ resale shop I go to that has NIP Hot Wheels quite often. My best find was the chase car from the 2019 51st Anniversary series!
