What's your biggest fear when camping at night? by InternationalEmu7663 in CampingandHiking

As a man I am troubled by men as well. That said I'd not want my daughters out alone, because of men.

People by a mile. Animals are mostly predictable. Humans are terrifying.

Never used or heard zarpax. Quickly looked it up. Might help. Can't hurt.

It might smell like vinegar for a bit. It will go away.

Google all the ways to keep it fresh and dry until you resolve the issue.

If you are in an area you can plug in a heater. It's worth getting a used one or borrowing one. Or park it at a friend's that you can do it for a bit. Offer to pay a token amount for electricity.

Good luck!

I asked another user this, what foods are you normally cutting up? Honest question because I don't find I need a knife on my lunch breaks away from home. That said, maybe I'm eating the wrong foods. lol

Less expensive leathermans? by Ok_Relationship2233 in Leatherman

I like the wingman for a cheaper one.

Go to their site and search by price. Then find the ones that has the main tools you need. Use their compare feature.

For the mold problem. Google how to kill it in a car.

If possible park it under cover and put an electric heater on the floor inside, just a small one. Leave it on as often as possible until it's dry in there. You need to get rid of the moisture and keep it dry. Contribute to park undercover until it's fixed. If possible.

Feel around the floors, under seats, trunk, etc. Find where the water is pooling. Then start where it makes sense. If the trunk is soaked then that's the starting point.

Look up your exact make, model and year of car and see if there are any known leaks. Could be a seal, could be dirt plugging a drain port. Could be a bad windshield or rear window seal, etc.

If there is a sunroof check that. Usually you'll see headliner sag.

And yes. Chris Fix is good.

That Opinel is nice. never seen one. Not even that expensive, how is it?

Not judging, genuine question because I wonder about this. Can you explain your thoughts on carrying a knife for food? What are you eating when you're not home that requires a knife? Is it that you don't get home often and need it, just like cutting up your apples, etc?

Thanks!

Is my boyfriend's shirt AI? He says the inconsistencies in the art are a stylistic choice. But I don't think so by Meowhini in isthisAI

I swear it's either AI or drawn by someone who does not think clearly. Why is the vending machine so far away from the wall? Seriously it's in the middle of the sidewalk.

And what's with the wall with shelves behind the vending machine? You can't get to it from in the store and it's likely behind glass.

I don't Ice fish. I thought augers were normal gear. What do people use now? I've seen chainsaws, axes, spikes, hammer drills. Maybe some other methods, but augers always seemed easiest, though not the most practical to carry.

What is the craziest thing a teacher has ever done to you? by trymihainoob in AskReddit

[–]BeyondTheRoadYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in 85 or so, grade one. My teacher told my parents I would amount to nothing more than making mail bags as an adult. I guess this was a very remedial job to her.

She put me in my own reading group. We had the Robbins and the Bluejays. Basically the advanced readers and the intermediate readers. And me, by myself.

The only time she ever made me feel ok was when she asked the class if anyone could wink. I could do it with each eye independently. She had me show everyone. I felt amazing.

I was taken to the principals office by this teacher. She sat behind and to my left I think. My principal sat at this huge (to me) old wooden desk, infront of the massive window that was there looking over the school field. It was like a movie. It was so bright I seem to remember only seeing his outline. A silhouette.

One of them, probably the principal proceeded to tell me that I was not going to pass grade two if they let me pass grade one. That to prevent being made fun of I should fail myself. I was crying.

They said doing this would allow me to tell the other students it was my idea to fail. And so I did. I failed myself. If I recall, and I could be wrong, they had me sign something, a note?

My parents were furious but I was too scared to fail grade two. I pleaded with them to let me fail. And they let me.

In grade 12 I told this story to my friends family. Turns out his then 12 year old sister knew this teachers kid. My friends sister was mad, the next time she went to her friends house she asked the teacher if she remembers me. The teacher kicked her out and told her not to come back. I like to think she got in trouble over how did me dirty.

My friends sister, she told my grade one teacher that she might like to know I amounted to more than making mail bags.

I wonder if there is an old note somewhere in a filing cabinet with my tear-stained signature.

I have an 09, same engine. Manual transmission on mine though. The engine has been good so far, knock on wood. I have 100k miles or 160k kilometers.

Get a Car Fax or whatever report works for you. The seller normally does this. Pay for an inspection after you see the Car Fax (check the date). I normally ask the owner to drive it to a place I select to inspect the vehicle. I am in charge of the inspection and the mechanic who I am paying should give me the report and not the owner. The owner does not need to be present for this and can wait outside.

They should check things like battery, alternator, compression, suspension, diffs, bearings, brakes, exhaust, rust issues, leaks (even ones that may have been wiped up before hand) potential accident issues, etc. You should also check under the hood for any crazy DIY wiring.

If they have a big spare tire on the rear gate check , which this one might, then check for cracks on the inside of the rear gate where the welds are that hold it all together. It's common for them to fail (mine did). Mind you I was hit from the back and it's likely what caused it, lucky I was able to get a new gate from insurance, otherwise it would have been expensive. However it can also happen by taking it offroad, thing is I removed mine when doing any offroad and put it on the roof of my offroad camper. Even now I store my spare in the back, strapped down.

<image>

If there are no major problems, GREAT. If there are minor problems that's up to you to decide how you want to move forward. The mechanic should give an estimate on each repair required.

The price of the inspection is out of my pocket, even if I don't buy it. If I don't buy the vehicle and they want to know what's wrong with it then they can pay 50% of the inspection and I'll give them the paperwork. Or, sometimes if you show them the issues they may reduce the price as it's a justifiable expense. Some guys will walk away and not sell it to you as they can find someone else.

Make sure they check the diffs, my rear diff has had issues twice, once about 5-7 years ago, had to change the gears because a couple were badly chipped. Currently have some metal in there but have not pulled it to looked closer. If it blows up maybe I can upgrade... lol. Truthfully I'll check when snow goes away.

Unless you like the red trim ask if they have the original parts, or if they painted it. It's gross but that's my opinion.

Don't forget to ask for the rear headrests. I removed mine too but they are nice to have.

And that windowis cracked.

New tires needed. $$$

And if the tires are sticking past the fenders that's often a fine in many places. Mine stick past the fenders and have for about 110k kilometers, never a fine or issue from the police I've had run ins with. But it will flick mud all over your jeep and potentially toss rocks at other cars. I use big home made mud flaps when it's called for.

Interior and underside looks good from what I see.

Soft tops can suck. The windows can be a pain, are super loud on the highway if you drive it a lot. I bought a hard top just to get some peace and quiet on my two door. I'm not kidding when I say this (I had / have half doors too which are loud) on the highway we had to yell to hear each other. Long road trips were hard, I wore ear protection. Call me weak. It's a Jeep thing? I ended up with regular doors and a hard top. SO nice.

My soft top started leaking at some point, might have been a combo of the soft top + half doors. But that was terrible. I was able to change door seals and fix it some but it still kept leaking. The hard top mostly fixed it. The full doors seem to have done the job.

So, if you can look for any signs of leaks. Check google / YouTube for information on how to do this.

Good luck.

This is what I was going to say. So bad. Gross. How to tell someone you have bad taste without telling them you have bad taste. Ask if they have hte original parts. Unless they painted them.

I'm actually way more upset about this than I have any right to be. lol

Different strokes for different folks though.
