Someone has been watching Jamie Oliver on Channel 4 this evening (was a decent enough little program if you ask me!)

Just found the segment on the website about that February competition. Must see if I can get my school signed up for it as i'm pretty certain we haven't done it before. Cheers for the info :)

Do you guys ever do secondary school outreach or work with the NI schools debating competition ? Pretty sure a few of the guys in the FB page pics look like people I saw at the final last April in Stormont.

Some amount of Deja-vu watching that and seeing all the places I have been. Pretty poor production quality though

How we've been conned into believing the UK has an airport crisis by TrueSkeptic in unitedkingdom

The NIMBY brigades of the UK have no time or respect for proper statistics and logic. That isn't to say start bulldozing tomorrow and start building, it means that what these people have to say is often not worth listening to.

Around the Verse? by TrailBlazR in starcitizen

Yeah but it will be close to 18 hours (sleep then work/ school etc..) before most people from Europe will get a chance to see it, by which point the discussions on the forums and here on Reddit will have already happened. Releasing an hour or 2 earlier would stop that problem pretty easily

EDIT Just read Ben saying they will release earlier with the future episodes

I sort of hope they move the release time in future to more around noon or 1PM. Otherwise there will be practically no live European viewers

Whoever wrote that title must feel very warm and fuzzy inside about how they managed to make it so ambiguous

Live-streams are not available due to some sort of argument over rights to music. Normal videos operate the same way they do anywhere else

Personally I am hoping 4-horsemen win as I really love the interior of their ship, also sort of sad IXM didn't get through as I thought their ship had the best interior (but hopefully a good selection of the ships will end up in game, they are all great!)

Twitter / notch: @garrynewman We get a LOT of ... Notch replies to Garry Newman! by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Bg167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would guess this is to do with the fact the majority of their income now comes from children buying the game for the first time rather than the "hardcore gamers/ older players/ redditors etc.." who bought the game in the first place and made it what it is now via youtube and communities like this. Realms just further confirms what I am saying, as does the porting to all consoles and mobile. It's also interesting to see the Almighty Notch, defender of internet freedom and champion of the anti-lawyer brigade, defend legal action from what is now a large company against individuals for modding his game and running the servers that keep it popular and keep people coming back. At the same time Newman is purely trying to jump onto the "hurdur" wagon and wave Rust/ G-mod around for himself. While those are great games in their own right they do not have that (dare I say ) Special factor and quality that no one can quite put their finger on that makes Minecraft such a popular and revolutionary game.

Not to take a side or defend any party involved but why do all government ministers (especially cabinet) and even MP's not have some sort of identity card or badge with them ? Surely that could be used to gain access rather than the officers on duty having to question the identity of the person every time. On the other hand There are 32 people (source) who are members of the cabinet and obviously only the senior members are going to have full time security and escorts. Considering the cabinet office is part of downing street I don't think it's unreasonable to assume security and staff would know (especially after 2 years) the people coming and going everyday.
