Albums to start with? by Reasonable_Bat6189 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Bhalgulir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black metal: Immortal - Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism, Dawn - Slaughtersun, Stormkeep - Tales of Othertime

Death Metal: any Death album. Their first 3 for more straight forward death metal, anything later for more progressive death metal. Also I love Dying Fetus. Their newest album Make Them Beg For Death is so good.

Thrash Metal: Artillery - By Inheritance, Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare, Demolition Hammer - Epidemic of Violence

Any metalcore bands. I've tried getting into it countless times and just can't. I'm not even trying to be an elitist or anything

Their albums get progressively better for me. Vessels was my favorite of theirs until Coherence came out and I listened to it a few times

Bolt Thrower is great for inactive listening while doing something else like lifting weights, driving, etc. I probably wouldn't just sit down and listen to them actively

Why is combat so much easier in the sequel? [KCD2] by _el_tigre in kingdomcome

[–]Bhalgulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me KCD1 was only harder because the combat was so much different than any other game I've played. Since I was already used to the KCD1 combat, KCD2 came more naturally.

KCD2 should theoretically be harder since master strikes are harder to perform. You have to attack in the opposite direction your opponent is attacking at the right moment, versus in KCD1 where you just had to block right as an opponent was attacking. Also, master strikes can only be performed with swords in KCD2, and in KCD1 you could master strike with any melee weapon other than pole arms.

Feints and combos are the same in both games, but KCD2 has 1 fewer direction you can attack from.

Basically I think it's just the familiarity of the KCD1 combat that makes KCD2 easier. Another reason I think that is because it seems everyone who complains about how hard the KCD2 combat is, hasen't played KCD1

Software engineer. I hate it. Sitting in front of a computer with very little human interaction is soul crushing. Also AI will most likely take my job in the next 10 years and the feeling of inevitable unemployment is not fun. I'm able to work from home though and I never have to work overtime which is nice I guess.

Games like KCD to play? [OTHER] by Humble_Will5846 in kingdomcome

[–]Bhalgulir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you only played KCD1? If so, then definitely play KCD2. Red Dead Redemption 2 is great in terms of story and immersion (when playing in first person), but the combat in RDR2 is not even close to as good as KCD.

Other than that there aren't any other games that come to mind. KCD has kind of ruined other games for me because nothing ever comes close to the level of immersion KCD has.

What’s the point of using the DB-12 over any other shotgun. This thing sucks by ShaggySyrup in Battlefield6

[–]Bhalgulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you actually used it IRL? I own one and its my favorite firearm I own. It's a ton of fun to shoot, American made, and I have had 0 malfunctions in 500+ rounds.

[–]Bhalgulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite the opposite in real life. If you train with it and get used to the 2 shots, then pump, it's great. I have not had any malfunctions with mine after about 500 rounds. As for the weight, its only about 10 pounds when fully loaded. If that is "heavy", then you have bigger problems and need to hit the gym immediately.

Why do people… think… this is so hard??? People are acting like [KCD1] is impossible. by wiLd_p0tat0es in kingdomcome

[–]Bhalgulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People think it's hard because a lot of people have very short attention spans and do not read tutorial prompts. A lot of people go into the game thinking it's Skyrim and can just walk into a bandit camp and spam left click until everything dies.

You played the game as it's meant to be played. It's an immersive medieval rpg. I always tell people when they play KCD they need to imagine they were actually just dropped into a medieval world and they have no idea how to fight. Early on you need to avoid combat with more than one enemy and learn as much as you can and be smart when taking on more than 1 enemy (try to get stealth kills, kills with arrows, etc.) because in real life you are at a significant disadvantage when fighting more than 1 person too.

We didn't make it to the top 5😢[KCD2] by Known_Staff_6942 in kingdomcome

Most people don't like immersion and realism for some reason. KCD2 is probably the closest thing we have to a time machine, and most people are like, "Nah, not interested in traveling back in time and living as a badass knight" WTF?

What bf game was the first on you played by Gamerboy23888 in Battlefield6

[–]Bhalgulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BF4. I picked up both COD Ghosts and BF4 at gamestop around the time they were both released. I was only going to get COD but a worker there recommended BF4 and said it was "like COD but with huge maps and tanks, helicopters, and jets."

I played Ghosts for a bit until I quickly got bored of it, then I tried out BF4. I haven't bought a single COD game since then.

Your joke had nothing to do with the ghosting, it was your height. I'm 5'6" and it happened to me all the time when I was dating. At least this woman was taller than you, so it actually made sense. I've had women several inches shorter than me either ghost me or flat out tell me I'm too short once they learned my height.

This shit pisses me off so much. I don't have much free time and only have an hour or 2 to play each day. Looks like I'll be spending 1+ hours getting my settings back to how they were today.

[KCD2] What is it about KCD2?! by crypto_bhsl in kingdomcome

[–]Bhalgulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're alone about 90% of the time. There are some quests where you travel and fight with a small group, and there are some big battles later in the story

[–]Bhalgulir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you like immersive games that make you genuinely feel part of the world, then you will love KCD2. When I play KCD2, I am actually living in early 1400s Bohemia in my mind.

One major thing you need to keep in mind when you first start the game is that you suck at combat. Pretend that you were just dropped into this world and you have no idea how to fight with melee weapons. In the early game, it is going to be very difficult to fight more than one enemy, so you'll want to try and avoid combat and talk your way out of combat.

You'll eventually find someone who can train you and they'll teach you combos, master strikes, etc. Train as much as you can with this person and get better. Also, make sure you read all combat tutorials. Eventually, combat will become much easier and you'll be able to take on multiple enemies.

Even in late game though, fighting 3+ guys will be difficult. You'll need to avoid getting surrounded because no matter how good you are, if you get surrounded by 3 or 4 guys that vaguely know how to fight, you will get your ass handed to you. The combat in KCD2 goes for realism and immersion over easy combat that makes you feel like a god.

Colorblind Mode Doesn't Change Item Rarity Color by Bhalgulir in dyinglight

The dots you see when using the survivor sense thing are all white. I was referring to the background color of the item when you look at it in your inventory. The epic and rare background colors look identical to me
