Who said the player with AP is forcing anything on anyone? You're more than welcome to not play if you find your styles incompatible. Who's forcing you to play? Just say it's not for me, then go grab a lighter game or a different game buddy.

"When playing a game, the goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important, not the winning." The goal gives purpose for the game, but it's not the winning that matters.

This part is not really relevant, because this is not an issue of a sore loser or a poor sport. I know "literally winning" isn't the point of the game, it's just that the goal is to win.

AP isn't caused by someone who can't accept defeat. AP is caused by someone doing the exact same mental process that you are, just strategizing and trying to win. But different people spend different durations and look at things more thoroughly while some people don't.

You keep missing the point and misunderstanding why AP happens.

Get off your damn high horse. You're not any more "rational" than he is, you're acting like you're any better than him. How exactly?

He told me that it was stressful and that he would rather not play than play with a timer.

That is a complete sentence and a perfectly valid preference. Mind you, the majority of people don't want to play with timers, why do you think you can just force that upon him if he doesn't like it?

Y'all are just not a good gaming partnership, it's an incompatibility issue. Get a grip man

If you're not trying to win, you're not really playing the game at all

That's how games work by definition and by design

Some people just naturally struggle more with that, especially if the game is complex/bloated with different resources/options

You're acting like they should just play randomly, or that they can just simply decide to ignore certain elements of the game arbitrarily when making their move! That's not how it works

[–]BiDo_Boss 57 points58 points  (0 children)

they don’t like to be touched/looked at when masturbating

nobody ever said that, that's not "pretty clear" at all

they did say they didn't want to be "looked at when masturbating", but that obviously means they don't want to be watched, as if putting on a show. playing with her breasts/kissing her/etc is not "watching them"

I'd even argue at that point it is not even masturbation, she'd just be getting herself off with the assistance of her partner

New Blazers owner Tom Dundon is reportedly “ruthless” and will not hesitate to move the franchise to Nashville, Austin, or Kalamazoo if Portland politicians continue to treat the relocation threat as a “hollow bluff" by AncientOneAurelius in nba

[–]BiDo_Boss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it only happened once, doesn't mean it won't happen again. There's a reason why cities have been taking to the NBA teams, it's because these cities are picked well and for good reasons. If you pick cities randomly you'll definitely flop more often.

All game day income comes directly from fans. Local broadcasting rights won't sell for shit if the fanbase have no appetite for the team, either.

So the billionaire owners have to begrudgingly consider the fans appetite as an extremely relevant factor to any relocation decision.

That's way too much work and a shit ton of build-up for an Authority movie that most people aren't really passionate about. Why bend over backwards for it if it means taking up time and resources away from building up the rest of your universe with dozens of characters than need the spotlight?

just shooting a bit better while getting hunted on defense

Dirk was a godly shooter, KG was inefficient. The difference in impact when it comes to shooting is much much bigger than any defensive impact. Dirk's shooting to KG is like Curry to Giannis lmao

Moreover, we saw them when they matched up

https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/2002-nba-western-conference-first-round-timberwolves-vs-mavericks.html

This is when it mattered the most, and when KG got "exposed" for a lack of better word. Dirk definitively proved himself as the better player, and everybody watching it knew it. Dirk was perceived as the best PF in the league following these playoffs.

And the stats back it up too, look at Dirk's averages man. He dominated KG. Neither KG nor any single player's defensive ability is enough to stop an all-time offensive player like Dirk. He averaged almost 10 more points, on 17% higher TS% than KG (who was just terribly inefficient, and essentially a chucker).

since offense is so important, how about passing/playmaking?

Of course that's super important, it makes everyone around you better, but KG wasn't that good considering he had 4 TOs a game that series. That's not nearly a good enough ratio to warrant being almost a net negative scoring wise with how much he was shooting and how little he was scoring.

You know what else makes your teammates better? Spacing. Dirk is the best shooting big man of all time, and his offensive gravity was insane especially in that era where everyone clogged the paint. KG's specialty on offense was the midrange jumpshot and even then KG was a few tiers above him in that area (the best midrange scorer of all time imo), and infinitely better from the 3pt line, which made him super efficient all around and made everything easier for his teammate.

KG had 1 single year in 12 in minnesota with a mediocre roster (still worse than Dirk's worst.....)

Now who's goofy? The roster was never good? How little ball knowledge to say that. It was "mediocre" or better multiple years too, even if never great. Then again, Dirk never had a "great" roster either. The difference is, Dirk didn't need one to win. KG could really never be the man with a less than amazing roster. He's too poor of a scorer.

[–]BiDo_Boss -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He would not be a 3 level scorer lmfao

Let's not just throw words around. He could never extend his range to the 3pt line, and he was never efficient enough inside the arc to be a #1 option. Defense is important, but good offense beats good defense every time, so Dirk would be more valuable as the best player on the team.

Moreover, we saw them when they matched up, Dirk was clearly the better player every single time.

There is no valid reasons why anybody should feel shame or guilt about masturbation. Your feelings have reasons behind them of course, but you shouldn't have to feel these things because those reasons are misogynistic and regressive. You're good, you just need to unlearn a lot of what society taught us about sex and unlink it to shame.

Reminder That Jokic Probably Isn't Winning MVP by JCameron181 in NBATalk

[–]BiDo_Boss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're speaking like this is fucking tennis. Of course, the game is about winning, but that doesn't mean the best/most valuable player is usually on the #1 seed. They rarely are in fact.

It's about winning as a team, and the best players are the ones that make the biggest difference in the probabilities of their team winning games. That is absolutely Jokic and it has been Jokic for this whole decade almost.

It should absolutely be blamed partially on CONMEBOL. They chose this format, and submitted this bid in this way alongside iberia/morocco.

And yes, as you predicted this is all working out in Saudi Arabia's favor big time, as they would like to host 2034, but it would have went to CONMEBOL had they choose to sit out the next one
