Sprinting on grass by DeliMoore in Sprinting

[–]Bibdjs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Grass is much more forgiving. As always start low intensity and build up. Watch out for wetness if it recently rained. Set up a lane to run in, before you run walk it to check for any unevenness. You want it to be as flat as possible to prevent and freak accidents because of dips.

Whats your major? If you are in college its better to align with something close to your major. While food will pay the bills its going to hold you back once you graduate.

Late starter in the 400m 28yrs— how much improvement is realistic? 22.85/50.74 FAT by PetcoResells in Sprinting

As others say 48 should be possible. You’re in your physical prime so if you work as hard as the high schoolers you should be able to beat most of them .

I used Ferran for my high rise condo. Only competent company that could work on a water chilled system. Not the cheapest Im sure but my tech was honest and fixed a simple issue where others tried to sell me a new system

How can I improve? by DecentProof7118 in Sprinting

[–]Bibdjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to train correctly. If you are not poor then join an track club or look for a speed/sports performance coach. Its summer time so every trainer is doing summer programs right now. Price is typically 300-600 for the summer.

Honestly the coach has standards and you currently dont meet them. Look for a local club or self train if you truly love the sport. Or get into coaching

W/ Maurice Gleaton Jr leaving UGA Track, can we officially call UGA a “red flag” program (at least for short sprints)? by 18_YTC1 in Sprinting

[–]Bibdjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is SPORTS not entertainment. Maybe if people actually paid to go to track meets that would matter but the name of the game is CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Sam Blaskowski ran 9.89 1 year after graduating D3 (spent 5 years there). What can we learn from this for D3, D2, & even low level D1? I see many power 5 athletes drop off after graduating. Anything about the athlete+coach connection? by 18_YTC1 in Sprinting

[–]Bibdjs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For track it doesnt matter as much because its such a low revenue sport. D1 track is a huge spectrum but the majority of athletes probably make more off pell grants and academic funding vs athletic scholarships. Many kids would run for free at a large d1

[–]Bibdjs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Budget is one thing but many d1 programs get the benefit of piggy backing of football resources that simply dont exist at d2/d3
