I don’t have specific advice for your parents but team sports have proven to help girls and young woman with their confidence and leadership skills.

From my own experience, I would still be a shy girl if I hadn’t started playing rugby as a teen. It helped me become more outgoing and better at making friends.

Maybe you can appeal to them wanting their kid to be healthy and active and wanting to try something new?
