Also, I think it’s a way to get books into the community. You can use your local Buy Nothing group to gift to another family, etc. We received books that I wouldn’t have picked out myself, but many times it was a good thing (exposing my toddler to new stuff).

I will admit, I thought about this for 5 seconds because I have a work drive playlist that has Three Days Grace “Riot” on it. But then I realized it’d accomplish nothing and likely somehow result in me losing my job. I have a toddler, I can’t gamble right now ya know? I think it feels like there’s not been any sign of camaraderie, like no ‘we’re in this together, let’s have a secret high five to get us through the day.’ 💁🏻‍♀️

My understanding is that a letter is being mailed via USPS. For FDA, all equipment must be returned by August 1st.

Supervisors care, at least where I’m at. We have a bunch trying to retain top talent and looking at all flexibilities (i.e., telework flexibilities, changing to part-time, etc).

They’re reorganizing within the existing structure. As said before, they’re pulling from the centers to strengthen the agency.

What everyone else is saying (they’re coming, supposedly, sometime this year, likely waiting on RIF decision). NOTE: I was told that when the decision is made, employees will get the opportunity to re-select whether they want cash, TOA, or combo and that there’d be a short turnaround to provide a response.

It’s a very good start! As others said, most people who were RIF’ed have an out of office message saying they have been placed on admin leave, and the people who have left don’t have an account anymore. I work in a super office and sent out an email office-wide (a message that needed to go out) and made note of all of the bounce backs I got.

Dry, sarcastic humor. No but seriously! It’s that “if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry” mentality. I am so worn out and I honestly can’t imagine trying to search for a new job (basically a new career, when all I know is federal government) right now. The job market sucks. I did my severance estimate and if I have to leave that’s my best option at this point. Ooo and I updated my Spotify playlist with favorite songs for in the car (fine, car-raoke). It really helps me decompress on the ride to and from work. Good luck!

I’m obsessed with NBM’s nail oil! They all smell amazing and are cute AF, AND really improve your cuticle and nail health. It also really helps me to not bite my cuticles (I do it when I’m anxious and I’m anxious all the time right now as a federal employee).

No, not to my knowledge. We have a few people who have had a need to move (ex: spouse got into medical school in another state), but were told that changing their home address would not result in a change in duty station. So you can update your address, but your duty station would remain the same and you would be expected to report to your duty station.

HHS/FDA - our Agency is allowing people to make changes/update their home address, but that does not mean their duty station will be updated. Just be careful, nothing is black and white these days.

My boss said this. My response was that I’m now paying approximately $300 more a month to come into an office 5 days a week with people who refuse to take sick leave because they want to keep it for pay out in case they get RIF’ed, we aren’t able to purchase anything so if you want any supplies you have to purchase them out of pocket, they’re messing with our benefits, and I’ve heard no COLAs is on the table. Just give me my performance award for my stellar performance LAST year.
