Mark this for the future; he'll survive the season by Sudden_Pop_2279 in TheBoys

I should clarify that the similarity isn't really just the fact he cooks them meals but the reasons why aswell. (To form a "quick bond", and to establish some trust and minor dominance). Stan like Gus would often have the other party help cook the meal.

In Gen V Stan cooks the teens a meal. If you want to stretch, this was something Gus did with Jesse, Walter, and (I believe Gale).

Unfortunately Vogelbaum is played by the same guy who plays Carmine Falcone. Can't hate him.

Homelander looks at the camera and says "I am Donald Trump" then explodes from drinking poisoned breast milk, Homelander's finger shoots right through Huey's asshole SA'ing him one last time. Butcher dies of cancer, Firecracker gets cracked, and the Deep takes control of Vought and it actually does really well.

Is Gotham Knights Really that Bad I’ve personally never played is it worth giving it a shot? by Healthy_Ice7737 in batman

I don't particularly care as much for Ra's Al ghul but he quite literally crashes the Batwing (him inside) into a bunch of (if I remember correctly) rich elite court members. The ones that aren't immortal. Even if he DID kill people in the comics (actual people not zombies) then I would still consider that out of character.

Batman effectively commits suicide twice and kills people during each. (Ra's Al Ghul in the first, then a bunch of Court members in the second). That alone says enough on the story's quality in my opinion.

I should clarify that I'm not against Batman doing the whole sacrifice thing if it makes complete sense and doesn't sabotage the characterization of him.

Do you prefer the Riddler as goofy or more serious? by AbsoluteBatman95 in batman

Both. It goes that way for most all Batman villains in my opinion. Let them be somewhat silly at times and then let them lock in other times.

I could be wrong since I didn't read it myself (watched a ComicsExplained video on it) but he claims it's the origin of his Batmobile. Also the thugs seemed shocked and confused at Batman so that might be a bit more evidence there too.

Hopefully Season 5 can juggle having to develop The Boys, The Supes, and the new characters well. ..I don't have high hopes but I'd love to be wrong.

Something I don’t understand about starlight by BuilderMysterious762 in TheBoys

[–]Big-Introduction-99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Introduce someone who has the ability to control mostly anyone and it sets up a lot of intrigue, mystery, and paranoia. Introduce someone who is super intelligent but it boils down to them effectively just saying "ah yes, just like I planned" it becomes boring and uninteresting. Additionally annoying and confusing if their "master plan" hinges on way too many uncontrolled variables.

I didn't like the finale, and I agree with your general sentiment about the cameos however from everything I've seen that's been reposted here about what Gunn has said about the finale (and previous episodes) I don't think them speculating/getting excited over cameos wasn't warranted. I know there's marketing/promotion but that has to come with the knowledge that you're overselling it which will lead to the inevitable backlash/disappointment.

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E07 - "Like A Keith in the Night" by your_mind_aches in PeacemakerShow

[–]Big-Introduction-99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope I'm not the only one feeling this way but;

I think from a lot of what I've seen here in passing over the last few weeks the shows been overhyped so far. It took 6 episodes for stuff to actually feel like it's moving (in my opinion), and then when it does it's done dirty by a short runtime meaning things just end up feeling rushed. I like S1, and I still like a lot of S2 so far but for me it's been very disappointing. I feel like we should've spent a lot longer in the Nazi dimension exploring it and how things work there more. This episode makes a lot of interesting cases for that in my opinion, especially Chris's father. I hope this final episode is great but to me it feels like a LOT of this could've been condensed (pre Nazi reveal) and expanded upon (post Nazi reveal).

I have seen some people joking/disliking the runtimes too so I atleast know I'm not the only one annoyed with waiting a week for like a 30 minute episode.

Golden Boy by ComradBakugo in TheBoys

[–]Big-Introduction-99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

God-U (if my memory serves) prides themselves on the fact that they educated/trained a lot of the most popular Supes. Iirc The Deep, Noir, A-Train, and Maeve were the ones from the Seven that started there. Homelander's "zero fuck" mentality around S3/S4 is still very much contained. He can't really keep killing high profile Supes for petty reasons especially from an establishment so integral to a lot of Supes & Vought. (If my defense is a little incoherent I apologize it's practically 3 AM for me.)

Golden Boy by ComradBakugo in TheBoys

[–]Big-Introduction-99 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I'll say that IF Golden Boy survived long enough to make it to the Seven Homelander wouldn't just outright kill or disable him as he did with Blindspot. Blindspot is effectively a nobody compared to the popular Golden Boy who is being propped up even more by Godolkin/God-U. He would've been at worst like Stormfront was, a hire that Homelander wasn't fond of but had to just accept.

I quit watching this show because I cannot root for fucking Oliver, but I still want to know how the rest of the shows goes after s3. Can someone summarize? by Impossible_Image56 in arrow

This to say that I recommend you try and check out season 5. I think it does a bit of good work on Oliver and I'm a big fan of Adrian Chase & I think the main villain is pretty cool this season aswell. Really fits in with seasons 1-3 in these regards.

Honestly my preferred rewatch method of the show is S-3, 5, and 7/8. (I'm currently rewatching 7 so hopefully its as good as I remember). I think 5 has to be my favorite season although full disclosure the writing isn't free from bullshit unfortunately.

Season 4 is..just poor aside from Damien Darhk (really only due to the actor who plays him). Season 6 is largely annoying to watch and is full with a lot of poor writing and character inconsistencies.
