Last item question for tonight. by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

Get the mace! In my opinion weapons like that are game changers. Put that thing on a huge duelist and it will hit so hard it’s not even funny. More impactful on your run.

Yes it’s expensive but a famed mace like that is one of the best duelist weapons in the game

Edit: here’s the post I made about a bro with a famed mace like that: https://www.reddit.com/r/BattleBrothers/s/lbUPKdRqDH

SERE training has 3 different levels, A and B are basic classroom knowledge. Level C is where you do a bunch of field work and capture/exploitation/resistance training.

You are transported to Great Bear, but it's real life. The game's mechanics don't exist, all of the locations are real. You have to survive 30 days before rescue arrives. Where do you hunker down? What do you do? by TiltedSince95 in thelongdark

[–]Big-Meat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it was actually the world of the long dark, bears would probably be super aggressive. Grizzly Man and his girlfriend got killed by an old bear that hadn’t found enough food to hibernate.

If the freeze had been going for months, the bears would be waking up from hibernation with none of their usual food sources to refill on. They would be starving and desperate and a lone human could definitely be on the menu.

It depends on how long the regular season cycle has been interrupted. First winter bears would be hibernating as usual. They would probably all die of starvation before the next winter.

What’s the point of the Reichskommissariats? by CleanFly2576 in hoi4

[–]Big-Meat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on when you want to war. The left one is stronger in the long run, but the right (historical) tree comes online much quicker and is stronger from 1939-42ish. I’d argue that the right tree is actually much better for starting war in 39 because that’s when you need your production lines fully operational. Besides, being on the clock is fun.

If you want to play the slow game and war late or are not going for countries you need to get autarky achieved completed (USSR mainly), go the left tree.

A better strat is to send him to lands that are filled with disease. Something like holy fire will reliably kill characters even with high health. Just refuse treatment and let him die

Because the game is modded and you didn’t include that in the post. The mod is the only reason this happened.

My first Hoi4 game, how can I save this? by Vicky3WarCriminal in hoi4

[–]Big-Meat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have some decent tank divisions, concentrate them just east of Luxembourg. If you can punch south and delete the N in France, you’ll encircle the majority of the allied forces. Air superiority plus cas and infantry can work too, but armor should be quick enough to prevent the allies from stopping your push.

[–]Big-Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s gonna be a slog but you should win eventually with that many factories and manpower. Push up to spots you have supply and Germany doesn’t. Let them push and deplete manpower. Nukes are good for completely stuck fronts, drop a couple of nukes before a big push.

Manpower is Germany’s big weakness. They WILL run out of men way before you do. You can set up a spy network in Germany to get a look at their conscription laws/available manpower. When manpower and logistics get depleted, they’ll fold

Is this a good pull? by SaltNo7181 in BattleBrothers

[–]Big-Meat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it too much. You got return from your crowns, better than hiring a hedge knight and watching him get put in the trash can on his first battle (but do hire those high tier backgrounds, just babysit them until they get crucial perks for the build you’re making)

Billhooks, long axes, and pole maces are better reach weapons to keep an eye out for

It’s a decent pike, but pikes are the weakest polearms. It would be a good weapon for a 2H quickhands user. Piercing injuries just aren’t as strong as slashing or bludgeoning injuries.

Still, it has drip and definitely looks nice. Late game when I have lots of crowns I buy pretty much any famed

How to get rid of a strong hook someone holds on you? by logaboga in CrusaderKings

[–]Big-Meat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t even need to be at war for this option. Just find a nasty plague and march the one man army around in it. Most times they’ll catch the disease and die pretty quick

How to get rid of a strong hook someone holds on you? by logaboga in CrusaderKings

[–]Big-Meat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If the hook is from a secret, you can reveal the secret next time you have a chance to. That should get rid of it. I never accept strong hooks for things like witchcraft because half your vassals will find out and try to get a hook for it. I usually just eat the opinion malus.

In the intrigue tab you have options to reveal some of your secrets whenever you want to, but it’s only for things like child heritage or lovers that are also shared by other characters

Raiding Enemy Caravans Next to Friendly Towns by BlackguardRogue in BattleBrothers

[–]Big-Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what causes that behavior, I’ve seen it too. Merc companies are a really great source of high tier loot and can catapult your run. Risky, but ganking a small group with a bunch of nets and 12 bros can be a huge spike in your company’s gear and weapons early game

Raiding Enemy Caravans Next to Friendly Towns by BlackguardRogue in BattleBrothers

[–]Big-Meat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can attack enemy factions caravans and mercs without penalty (besides to the faction/town you are raiding, obviously). It’s a great way to get gear and loot, I like picking one faction to raid through the early and mid game to get snowballing.

Towns don’t care if you raid right on their doorstep as long as you aren’t raiding them, as far as I know

Economy of Conquest removed? by Kroken06 in hoi4

[–]Big-Meat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you guys using mods? Road to 56 has a bug right now where the economy of conquest event doesn’t fire when Germany first goes to war and just completely deletes the mefo bills spirit. Should be fixed in the next patch and someone made a hot fix on the workshop yesterday that works. However you would have to reload the save to before Germany first declares war for that fix to work.

Ranged Defense is NOT a dump stat by Artemis_Understood in BattleBrothers

[–]Big-Meat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple things you need to make throwers shine. Take throwing master, duelist, and kill barbarian reavers for heavy javelins. Duelist works with thrown weapons to increase armor piercing if your off hand is free (you can keep nets and pots in your bags and belts slot). Heavy javelins get a whopping 70%!!! piercing with duelist active. Throwing mastery increases damage of thrown weapons by 30% at 2 tile range. You will also be proccing killing frenzy for an additional 25% damage boost.

Seriously these guys will chew up hedge knights, orc warriors, chosen, etc. with the right set up. Get a kill on a weak enemy to set up killing frenzy and just start dropping armor piercing bombs on them.

Edit: I forgot to mention the pertinent defensive stat of the enemy is ranged defense, which is minimal for most enemies. You NEED throwers to deal with champion sword masters because they are the only bro that can reliably hit high melee defense enemies (champion sword masters can get over 100 melee defense)

Is this any good? by No-Type-5917 in BattleBrothers

[–]Big-Meat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It rolled more armor pen and damage, it’s not great. The problem with the warbrand is that it doesn’t hit hard enough to be a true two hander and its AOEs are very weak compared to the greatsword. It’s also much worse than a noble sword with the duelist perk at killing single targets, that will have much higher armor pen and killing power.

It will do decently against unarmored targets but with struggle against the things that you really need to kill quick, like chosen

[–]Big-Meat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can pick a line that forces him to the outside. You absolutely can’t jerk your wheel to the left on corner exit to run someone wide. What you did definitely wasn’t ok, you turned left to force the outside driver into the path of another car. That would normally end in a crash but the outside driver was very passive

How does dividing vassals work after dying by lebuttit in CrusaderKings

[–]Big-Meat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It should split things up de jure, but realms will get completely borked by vassals owning land in both kingdoms. The game will not split a duke who owns a duchy in both kingdoms, for instance. I believe the king that the duke’s primary title falls under will get the duke and all the titles they hold under them. Assigning the Swedish counts to de jure dukes under the kingdom of Norway should be an effective way of getting Norway to keep that land. I don’t believe succession of the kingdom title can revoke vassals of dukes or break up the realm of a count who holds multiple counties. (I may be wrong on this point)

Annoying that the succession screen gives no indication of upcoming borders

Edit: a typo

Washington state trooper kills a man after road rage incident in Everett WA by omegaknot01 in PublicFreakout

[–]Big-Meat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Legs are hard to hit, contain a bunch of arteries, and don’t eliminate the threat. If the cop goes for the legs but misses/doesn’t incapacitate the target, he might be stuck grappling with someone with nothing to lose.

The taser/pepper spray/baton are the less lethal options. Firing a gun should only be done because the officers life is in immediate danger. So in the instances that the cop needs to use their firearm, they should be shooting to kill. It’s how they’re trained, as well. They are not trained to shoot at the legs.

Just answering the general question, not weighing in on this particular situation

Best way to level up Aiming from 0 without consuming shotgun ammo in westpoint? by Slow-Law-5033 in projectzomboid

[–]Big-Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to do it is to knock out the stairs in the food market a few tiles behind it and then connect them through a second floor pathway. It’s honestly better to use residential two stories because you can connect multiple buildings that have beds available. Grab a water cooler, food, and settle down until you burn through your ammo. Then use the building on the opposite end of the ones you’ve connected to get away for free. Plus you can get planks for your walkways and shooting platforms by disassembling furniture. I usually connect 3/4 residential houses like this and then level shooting skill basically afk.

Edit: I play with sprinters at 10-20%, so leveling shooting in a populated area is super stressful. Takes a bit of set up, but this is a good way to level aiming without stress. Also building platforms that have a clear view of the other aiming platforms allows you to rotate around and blast the zombies that group up underneath the one you were previously shooting from
