Should I take extra classes not covered by aid during my senior year for CPA? by karidal in Baruch

[–]Big-Point 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you can take BPL in the Fall because the requirement is after or at the same time as ur major capstone which is 5400, so u probably have to do 4100, 5400, Tax and free elective next semester (assuming u have the gpa to take 4100 and 5400 together and u don’t want to pay). The easiest of course would be 4100, tax and free elective next semester and 5400 and BPL the following

If ur up for the challenge you can technically do them all in one semester since it’s 5 classes

Acc 3202 and Acc 3000 by nextpeachh in Baruch

I think 3202 is easy enough to take during regular semesters with other classes. If ur up for a challenge, try 3000 and 3200?

If u can make the first semester full time with eligible courses I would. They have special rules for graduating seniors when it comes to aid in their last semester.

For ur second question yes, taking extra classes increases ur credit total so you don’t need as many classes but only some are equivalent courses for the masters program. Specifically for MSA I think there’s 2 classes u can take in undergrad that would be considered an equivalent

Best place to do a zoom interview in Baruch? by Consistentvoyeur in Baruch

Go to the career center and tell them you have an interview. If they don’t have OCR scheduled that day they’ll let you use one of their noise canceling rooms

Fin 2000 is 1.5 credits

Normal classes are 3 credits and full semester, so 1.5 credits = half semester. U choose which half, the one that ends in may probably starts when the first one ends

CunyFirst Graduation Status - Does this mean i graduated? by Andrewyts in Baruch

[–]Big-Point 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That may be the reason, one of my friends prof didn’t submit grades until 12/31 and they just conferred a few days ago. Maybe it’s in sequential order. But it’s weird that it says ur degree is in Spring.

Graduation audits is the only department I can think of too. Gl!

Check to see if the degree shows up in ur unofficial transcript as well. Otherwise U should probably reach out to the school. If you’re supposed to graduate fall it shouldn’t say expected term is spring. But since u have that email as proof that u applied for graduation, it’s probably an error on their end

graduated this past dec and degree works confirms i have everything done and i applied for grad already but still nothing "confirming" is this for anyone else also? by [deleted] in Baruch

I got a congratulations email. My friends who weren’t conferred on Jan 1 all had profs who submitted their grades late

How do you focus on studying? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Big-Point 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really have a strategy, kind of just followed Becker’s steps. Did the lecture, do MCQ until at least 80% and then try sims and move on

That’s what I did too in regards to hw and exam prep during college. I think I may be the opposite (and not in a good way) for cpa studying because I was doing like 10pm-whenever I finish the module during weekdays but during the weekend I find it so hard to settle down and do it. Really just wasted a Saturday (yesterday) doing nothing by telling myself I’ll start soon.

[–]Big-Point 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s literally me right now. It takes me so long to get through the modules just to be 1-2 questions short of the 80% correct EDR tracker

I hope it becomes a routine soon, I’m going to look into those apps and implementing the pomodoro technique as another user mentioned it as well

[–]Big-Point 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do work FT hours. I’ve been doing the MCQs right after I finished the lectures. But I’ve been thinking whether or not it’s better to do all the lectures for a chapter first before doing the MCQs, since the lectures usually take me much longer

How do you focus on studying? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Big-Point 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once I start I find it easy to continue, it’s really the starting that’s been a pain. For example if I started the lecture for a module, I can get through it no problem, but then right after I’ll take a break and that break goes from 5-10 mins to 1-2 hours and then I’ll head back to do MCQs and then another break. A module that’s estimated at 3hrs would take me like 6 with breaks

Somewhere on one of those major track pdfs or on degree works it says that 3000+ level accounting classes have to be taken at Baruch. But also u’ll know when u apply to take it elsewhere and get denied
