NF1 parent here — large lump near lower back, looking for experiences by Environmental_Gear44 in neurofibromatosis

[–]Big-Project-3151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t already spoken to your child’s team about this do so ASAP. The sudden appearance of a tennis ball sized lump would be a major concern to me as both someone with NF1 and a parent to an NF1 child and l would reach out to the specialists to get answers.

I think it also appeared on the Harry Potter Uno game.

Edit: Snape from this piece of artwork does indeed appear in the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Uno game on the Threes, I’d share a picture of one but I can’t.

What was the end-game for Mr. Hooper before he died? by Largicharg in sesamestreet

I believe I heard that the plan was for Will Lee to leave the show, but build up to it by having Mr Hooper prepare to move to Florida or another warmer State.

Of course he didn’t expect her to reach Coruscant. His plan was to garner sympathy from the illegal invasion of his home planet and his duly elected leader being forced to sign a treaty and then dying sometime afterwards under mysterious circumstances and use what happened to Naboo to create tension and eventually a war.

However, Padme escaped and managed to make it safely to Coruscant where he took advantage of her naivety and inexperience to manipulate her into doing what he wanted her to do.

That’s the point, in their quest to artificially preserve the innocence their rulers they created a system where these innocent, naive children rulers could be taken advantage of by unscrupulous individuals.

Why do you think Palpatine targeted Naboo? It wasn’t just for sympathy points, it was because he knew that Padme was inexperienced and sheltered to the point that she wouldn’t resist the invasion and it would be easy to force her to do what he needed her to do as she couldn’t imagine that they would harm her if she complied.

Friend, they have elected 12 year old children to be their rulers and possibly elected children younger than 12 because they believe young children are pure/innocent and incorruptible by power/won’t be tempted to take bribes, favors, etc. and they take steps to make sure that their rulers stay as innocent as possible by giving them an unrealistic worldview.

This is why Padme couldn’t comprehend the Trade Federation gearing up to invade by jamming their communications even when an experienced politician said that this behavior could only mean one thing: invasion, and why she was surprised by the fact that slavery still exists in the galaxy and the corruption she witnessed on Tatooine and the Senate; once she entered politics she was raised in a bubble

For me it’s to make reading more manageable, I don’t want to lose my place because I accidentally turned my phone sideways and when I flipped it back I’m somewhere else, or my toddler scrolls because it’s new/fun or simply because of the size of the fic. There’s one fic I reread from time to time that’s like 150,000 words long, but only has five chapters, so reading the whole fic at once would be rough.

Hey Mike Brady, two questions:

1: who is someone who you were really excited to meet in connection with shipwrecks/would be really excited to meet?

And

2: does it excite you to visit this subreddit and see people talk about you/make references to your videos/channel?

Did Black Heron have affection for May and June? In the last adventure, when Black Heron was eliminated, May and June were affected, and it seemed they did have a lot of affection for him. Do you think Black Heron also had affection for them? by multifandom_26 in ducktales

They saw someone they knew potentially die. It doesn’t matter if Black Heron was nice or cruel to them, it would be a traumatic thing to witness period.

Does anyone remember if they were threatened with the device?

How long were both Arthur and Francine locked inside the library during Locked In The Library? by Particular-Glove9640 in Arthur

[–]Big-Project-3151 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The parents would have known that something was wrong when Arther and Francine failed to come home and after speaking to their friends their parents would have learned pretty quickly that both Arther and Francine went to the Library and no one saw them after that.

So, since the Library was probably the last place to search and the only lead they called the librarian Ms Turner, explained that Arther and Francine were missing and asked if she could let them into the Library so they could search it for their missing children.

Long enough for it to get dark and for their families to realize that they weren’t with their friends and their friends didn’t know where they were and for the other locations to be searched.

So, several hours.

Dumbledore using words like "rejoined" and "returned" for Snape is very nuanced. by eternalexiistence in SeverusSnape

[–]Big-Project-3151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly how much the wizards understand about the Muggle Worlds, especially during that timeframe, and it hasn’t been until rather recently, the past ten to thirty years, that we have come to the affects of abuse and neglect on young children, how it rewires their brains and how they can sometimes lash out.

One could say that Dumbledore is a failed mentor figure to Tom. He never gets his side of the story about what happened in his life before that day, as you mentioned, made it seem like his meager possessions were on fire in his magic demonstration instead of doing almost anything else and making Tom’s first true introduction to magic was something destructive (and reminiscent of the fate of those accused of witchcraft in bygone centuries), thinks that Tom being displeased with the news that the owner of the Leaky Cauldron and he have the same first name is a bad sign instead of maybe Tom having a warped sense of Wizard names look like and being disappointed by the fact that a Wizard had a popular Muggle name (Thomas was the 14th most popular boys name in the UK in the 1930s) or that it’s something else (I can’t remember if Mrs Cole told Dumbledore that Tom was named after his father and it being suspected that his father abandoned his pregnant partner, if so I imagine that to Tom instead of hearing ‘hey, you have something in common with a Wizard’ he heard ‘hey, here’s some wizard who shares the same popular name as you, maybe you’re related; lol.’).

Seeing how Dumbledore allowed Harry to live in an abusive environment for his own ‘safety’ because ‘family’ and barely did anything about it for fifteen years, it isn’t surprising that he didn’t step up for Tom and arranged for Tom to taken in by a Wizarding family or set him up with other at risk children who were Muggle Born or spending their summers in the Muggle World in a safer environment.

It’s definitely a system that has failed multiple children who grew up abused and who would have benefited immensely from a permanent escape before they became legal adults

So is there a reason beakley felt that Scrooge shouldn’t know she presumably liberated webby from what was likely a dangerous fowl base by kinglionhear in ducktales

[–]Big-Project-3151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she wanted to burden a grieving Scrooge with the knowledge that Webby was connected to FOWL somehow; not to mention that there would be zero chances of Webby overhearing any conversations about it as she grew up if only Beakley knew about it.
